Never visit downtown Atlanta after dark

If you haven't been to downtown Atlanta, here is a piece of advice for you, do not stay there after dark, or before 5:00 P.M. you should leave there. Because with all the homeless people, you might be have a higher chance to get mugged, or get robbed. On Sunday, 2 of friends went to Coca - Cola, and underground until 6:00 P.M. when they are to leave and go to get their car, they were stopped by some homeless and crazy people, who ask for change, and they were followed, and be shouted at. Luckily, some police patrol were around the parking lot area.
I also heard that many night class students were robbed and some girls also got hurt by those predators. So, watch out if you got a chance to visit downtown Atlanta. It wasn't so safe around night time.

Downtowns during the dark don't sound like good ideas in the first place, lol! They have a many homeless people where I live, its dark and eerie, and the inner city is surprisingly a very scary place to me! I never want to get robbed by a homeless man or be involved with a predator so I'll take your advice and stay away during the general portions of the night!

It seems that no place is safe enough these days. I have never been to Atlanta, but if I ever go for a visit I will keep that in mind. Some homeless are desperate people that would do anything to get a hot meal. I don't feel sorry, for the most part some of these are felons. I was homeless one, but I got out of the streets. Those who stayed back do so because they choose to live that way.

While it is true that you have a greater chance of being the victim of crime at night this really is not a fair statement to single Atlanta out. The fact is that with any major city you will find homeless people in the downtown before and also after dark. I have been to Atlanta several times and been in downtown every time after dark. The idea here is the same as anywhere, there is safety in numbers, be aware of your surroundings, stay on main roads do not venture into alleys or unattended parking lots. You use your same methods of staying safe anywhere as you would use if visiting Atlanta.
