do we have a doctor here? it is that time of the year again where i fret over my children. my son, who i mentioned in a previous discussion has an ear infection. It was fine after i gave him anti-biotics for 7 days..then just last night , he cried in pain again! I saw something, like a liquid that ooze out of his ear that smells.. i am bringing him to an ENT again this morning. anybody has an idea about ears and stuff like this?

thats so sad that it doesnt clear up. let me tell you, little or grown we worry and feel sad for our children when they are hurting. In fact my 37yrs daughter has had this several times this year and because i owe so many doctor bills, i havent had enough to pay for her to go to doctor and she hasnt a job yet. have you asked the doctor to check your sons tonsils? (spell check?)sometimes that can cause ear infections.

True bunny sad but it is true, i am broke right now even but still looking for a way to earn because tomorrow is another check up day for him at the ENT.. the doctor did check the tonsils and it is fine..it is his eardrums that are infected and it has pus in it because of some bacteria.

jazel_juan, I believe your son is in need of real medical attention here, since pus is coming out of his ear which is indicative that the infection has become acute. I can see that it is working out well with your new ENT who is recommended by your mother and since it is being attended to, I thought I refer you to some detailed reading material to help understand his condition a little better. Hope you will find the link below useful. Ref: http://www.medicinenet.com/ear_infection/article.htm

I think it is already a serious case. If I were you, I won't bring him to the same ENT specialist. Try to check what other doctors will tell you since it's been every year and no good result happens. Don't you think that the ENT where you normally go to is not propeprly diagnosing the problem. It just my opinion though but I think it's logical.

We did go see a different ENT specialist.. this time the one my mom always go to..the last time he was not available so we went to a different one my hubby knows. This one referred by my mom is very good and thorough ( but a bit expensive, ive spent a little more than $100) phew but then quality comes with a price..he is good and cleaned my little boy's ears..and he put medicines and made me even look at this screen showing how swelling his eardrums is and how bad it is and what caused it..he explained all of it and taught me how to put the medicines properly and will be bring my little boy again tomorrow so he will clean the ears again..
