I know some people do and some don't. I really don't! In high school we went through "Romeo and Juliet" and "MacBeth". I understood "Romeo and Juliet" but never could get into "Macbeth"! Never seen any of the plays, either. Had a chance to see "Romeo and Juliet" over the weekend but ended up not going. Glad I didn't! This production of "Romeo and Juliet" was awful! The director added ghosts to the play and the actors were not projecting their voices far enough! So what is your take on Shakespear?

I love Willie Shake! I was lucky I got it in school . My first was Julius Caesar. My teacher Took apart the play so we could first understand his Lang and then the plot. Then we did Romeo and Juliet. But I Hated Macbeth. I wanted to learn Hamlet. But I never got to it until after school! Macbeth's plot makes me so angry to this day. But Hamlet? The basic revenge story. And as for the director of that disaster you mentioned. I hope Willie haunts him. There is no need for ghosts in Romeo And Juliet!

What I remember is being so pi$$ed off at Macbeth because the witches tell him he will be king and then he does Every stupid thing in the book to Make it happen. If a witch told me I was to be King I would ask How? Then I would know what to do And not do! Julius Caesar is straight forward. In fact we saw the 1953 movie in class! If you ever want to see a good version , rent the movie. As for Hamlet? It is straight forward too. The best version I saw was acted on a bare stage with modern dress starring Kevin Kline. You can just concentrate on the text. I have it on DVD so I assume you can rent it. It is the best version to try.

In high school we did not go through Julius Caeser. i don't know now much about that play. Never went through Hamlet but I know about it. MacBeth was confusing and had to write it in today's english was not easy and I got so frustrated I stopped trying! My teacher was not alot of help, either! Romeo and Juliet I understood and I am still glad I didn't see this play version I mentioned! I still can't believe the director had ghosts in the play! That is nonsense!

Hi Blue, I like Macbeth a lot, and glad that we never needed to study Romeo and Juliet. Macbeth really brings out the desire for power, and the guilt of doing something wrong. It is bad enough when others blame us for our mistakes, but it is definitely worse when our conscious cannot forgive us.

I never got the whiches in MacBeth. In high school we had to write the play in modern english! I had a really hard time doing and basicly gave up on it! I had to do extra credit to pass that english class! I asked my teacher for help on MacBeth but she wasn't much help!

Hi, I think studying for the sake of examination is really no fun. Fortunately the test on literature is not important to me, that is why I can enjoy the play as it is. We studied it in the second year of high school, and we had to select our studies for the third year. I chosen the class without literature, that is why I do not mind the lower marks in the second year. In the end, I scored rather well, because I enjoyed the play as it is.

Shakespear is classic. I've seen McBeth, read Julius Caesar, and of course Romeo and Juliet, including a 4 actor - all male - do it called "R & J" I think you might ought to rent a good copy of any Shakespear you can find and watch the, they are part of the fabric that helps mold society now.

I never understood MacBeth but I did understand it after watching an animated Disney series. I never told anyone about it because people would call me crazy. The series was from the 1990's and it was called "Gargoryles". It was about a very rich new yorker who has a castle from Scotland moved toNew York and put on top of his own skyscaper. The gargoryles are real and only awake at sunset. They were under a apell for a 1,000 years. The spell was broken because the gargoyles are now above the clouds! The series deals with the story of MacBeth. I enjoyed that and it made sense to me! Reading it sure didn't and I am not sure I would see it in a play. Anyway I will think about renting something on Shakespear

Hi, as a literature student, i have read most dramas of Shakespeare like those classics as Macbeth, Othello, King Lear, Julius Caesar, Merchant of Venice, Romeo and Juliet and so on and each and every drama has some nice impacts on mu life apart from its literary value.

If I have never seen the animated series called "Gargoryles" in the 1990's I would never of gottan MacBeth! There was a story line about Macbeth in the series which I got into!
