2012 could wipe out 6 billion people or be the begining of a new era

I was watching this serious docummentary on 2012 and Nostradamus. There are those who study a lot about this subject and it is really intersting what they think it's gonna happen. One of them said something intersting that 2012 will either be the end of the world, and when they say it it's not like Earth it self will explode in half, but most of the living beings will die. And that would be 6 billion...out of 7 billion people. There are volcanos that have red marks already, or something like that as they call. It seems many are ready to erupt and if the planets align with the sun the magnetic waves that it will cause could push the volcanos over the edge. If the volcanos erupt it can begin a chain reaction...That indeed could bring the storms, eartquakes and of course tsunami. If the poles shift, all that we know about will change: north will be south and you know, that would mean continents would change places and no building could stand that, it would be really violent. What do you think it's gonna happen and what information has come to you for you to think that?

Hi katie: Honestly I don't believe in these predictions. I remembered people used Nostradamus predictions to confirm that 2000 would be the end of the world. I prefer to live my life carefully and think about the problems we have today instead of the things that may happen or not. ALVARO

Yes I know it's very crazy I just have the feeling something is going to happen, I didn't fear at all in 99 and I don't fear now but I feel now that there's something. Well 10% of the times or less my intuition is wrong. There's someone I know who also has great intuition and talked about 2011, man, he's scarring. He predicted terrible things but he got it right in the past so, he said he felt an earthquake coming... well, Fukushima is not far away so, he just told me "told you." yec Hope nothing happens. Our world is too beautiful and awesome

We should live in hope and not doom and gloom! Things on Earth are constantly changing. We, as humans, have the ability, and hopefully, the intelligence to weather most of the storms thrown at us. If we give in to doomsayers we will never be able to move forward and make a better world for all! Awful natural disasters happen all the time so I don't think 2012 is going to really be any different. I'm not expecting the world to end, and, yes, there are already more people who are beginning to question everything about our life-purpose here on Gaia.

How intersting you use the name GAIA, I've been hearing it a lot in this circle about all things paranormal and etc. It's greek? Indeed, let's enjoy our time. They said in 99 the world was going to end and I saw on tv that 2 people killed them selves! It makes more sense the world will change slowly. But that Lost Book of Nostradamus was very intersting. I don't know who draw for him but it was about the alighment of planets that will happen again in december 21 of 2012. I don't know what that means.

Well I think it would just be better to wait for 2012 to arrive then if those things happen we cannot really do anything anymore no matter how much you know if it really is to happen then we can just see it coming. But for now, I think it would be better to look positive and look for better things in life. Thinking of this lots of disaster in your mind would just blur your present life situation and make your life worst. Just relax and enjoy what life could bring you now.

That's true! To enjoy the here and now, indeed. There are drawings in Nostradamus Lost Book that was intersting, but can mean anything. Basically he was mentioning the alighment of the planets in the end of next year (we're almost there! ) but you know, it's just that he could be talking about something else.

Good lord, so much pseudo science dribble I don't even know where to begin. Ok, we'll start here: "I was watching this serious docummentary on 2012 and Nostradamus." There is no such thing (nor will there ever be such a thing) as a "serious" documentary on 2012 or Nostradamus. "There are those who study a lot about this subject.." Yes, there are and it is sad testimony to the critical thinking skills of the human race at large. "..and it is really intersting what they think it's gonna happen" No, it is really ridiculous what they think is going to happen "One of them said something intersting that 2012 will either be the end of the world" Nearly all of them think this. "and when they say it it's not like Earth it self will explode in half, but most of the living beings will die." Neither will happen "There are volcanos that have red marks already, or something like that as they call." And there have been since the beginning of the planet. "It seems many are ready to erupt " They do every day. "and if the planets align with the sun " The planets are ALWAYS aligned with the sun. But I am guessing you mean more than one at a time all lined up on that same side of the sun. Two problems with this...first is that there will be no such alignment in the next few hundred million years. Planetary orbits are well known and predictable (thank you Newton!) and no such alignment is predicted. Problem two is even if there were...so what. It will do nothing. "the magnetic waves that it will cause" Planetary alignments do not cause magnetic waves. Your confusing gravity and magnetic energy, two completely different things. "that it will cause could push the volcanos over the edge." No, magnetic waves could not do this )neither will the gravity from a planetary alignment that isn't going to occur) "If the volcanos erupt it can begin a chain reaction...That indeed could bring the storms, eartquakes and of course tsunami." See comments above on gravity and magnetic waves "If the poles shift..." Which has happened several times since man has been on earth. The worst thing that will happen during a magnetic field pole shift is that you will have to read your compass backwards. "all that we know about will change: north will be south and you know, that would mean continents would change places and no building could stand that," OOoooh, you mean the actual physical poles....um..this is probably the most ridiculous part of all of this. There is no mechanism that can cause the crust to slide and reverse the axis of the earth. If by some chance we suspend the laws of physics and say this is possible, we would have bigger things to worry about than buildings not standing. The energy released by such a move would melt the earths surface. "What do you think it's gonna happen..." I think at the end of 2012 what will happen is I will go out and get my 2013 calender and spend a ton of time online laughing at people who bought in to the whole 2012 thing, who will likely find themselves a new date to push nonsense about. "...and what information has come to you for you to think that?" Actual science.

Well, you've pretty much covered everything that I could've said to refute the opening post, so kudos on that. Oh science, how I adore thee.

I think there are many disasters that will happen in 2012. But you know what, there are just equally that many happening in 2011, 2010, 2009,... Things happen, they happened in the past and they happen now and they happen in the future. I just don't see what makes 2012 so special that the disasters happening in 2012 will wipe out the population.

In that you are right, there are so many disasters happening non-stop that something is really going on. I live in Japan and I felt the earthquake, it was horrifying. If 2012 be worst...the movie was exagerating, I felt, but something doesn't feel right. Hope it's just the begining of a new era, and that the changes come slowly.
