India tightened its strong grip on second cricket test match being played at Eden Gardens against W.I.. Resuming at overnight score of 346/5 India consolidated its position through overnight N.O. batsman Laxman and captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni both completing their centuries after W.I. got Yuvraj Singh cheaply. Resuming at overnight score of 73, Laxman continued to plunder runs to all parts of the ground with his elegant wristy stroke play and remained N.o. on 176 when the innings was declared at 631/7 immediately after tea. W.I. started badly under the pressure of mammoth Indian score and lost their opening batsman Adrian Barath at the score of 3 and lost their second opener Brathwaite at the score of 30. The play was halted due to bad light when W.I. were reeling at the score of 34 for 2. India look confident to go 2 up in the series. What are your views?

That was a real Battathon performance by the Indians. Centuries from Dravid, Dhoni and Laxman has put India in complete command of the match. Now the Windies have to bat out three days with only 18 wickets to play with. With the ball turning square on Day 2 that too with the new ball, the chances look really bleak. At least three players would have to bat out of their skin to save Windies in this match!! Cheers! Ram

Yes West Indies will have to play their hearts out to save this match. They have got the players like Chanderpaul, samueis who can stick to the wicket. Weather God can also come to their rescue but more probability is that W.I. batsmen will find it difficult to cope up with Eden Garden pitch and Indian spinners.

Yes, their best bet is that Chanderpaul and Samuels play very well in the first innings and then the weather gods help them. I think they will need help from both to stay in this match. If India bowl well tomorrow, we could also have an early end to the match!! Cheers! Ram

Yes, it was the performance of Indian batsmen made India in such a commanding position. At first Rahul Dravid, then Laxman and at last M.S Dhoni. But, now we need is some classic bowling performance from the bowlers. Let us hope they will do their best.

I think Team India is going to win another test in a big margin.I hope WI will face follow on as they are weak in spin and its a spin pitch. Its a big score and if anytime go for 2nd innings batting, they will must face problem as we see already WI lost their two wickets.

You are right dabanladehi, W.i. batsmen will find it difficult to handle Indian spin bowling attack which has started turning the ball right when it is new and if they have to follow on It would be even more difficult with the pitch deteriorating with passage of time. India is sitting pretty scoring the runs of both innings in one.

Yes, India at end of day two is in a commanding position in the second cricket test match against W.I. Laxman and Dhoni really scored big tons denting the morale of visiting team. Having declared at 631, India also got 2 wickets too making it a perfect day for the team. Looking ahead, I think pitch has started to take spin and is expected to play few tricks and with visiting team under tremendous pressure to save the test, it appears Indian team will be able to bowl of W.I. and win this test match if not by day 4 then by day 5 for sure.

Indian spinners started extracting spin from the wicket even with the new ball where West Indies bowlers struggled with an old ball. Laxman and Dhoni plundered merrily on the weak W.I. bowling attack and scored at will. India are now on driver's seat as far as this match and series is concerned.

That was really a great play by Indian team against west Indies after their loss to England in the previous test series. It's good that the team has gained more confidence and are now moving towards perfection. I am eagerly waiting Sachin to score an other Mammoth century. Wish the team a very good luck for the series.

Playing in conditions very conducive to the kind of stroke making Indian batsman are used to, and with folks like Rahul Dravid, who even contributed a lot under tough conditions in England, where India lost all the test matches , and against a West Indies team which is nowhere near the team of 80's and even early 90's, it would be tough for West Indies team to make a comeback in this match and perhaps the whole test series.

I am sure that West Indies batsmen are in a big pressure as they are chasing such a huge total. Also Aswin started well at the end of the 2nd day. He picked up the wicket of Kraigg Brathwaite and Umesh Yadav got Adrian Barath's wicket.
