That little pest - cockroach!

I find it funny sometimes when I or other people encounter a cockroach. When it comes flying straight to you or crawls on your shoulder, you automatically scream, run around, dodge, and jump up and down. I remember one scene of the Just For Laughs Gags where one put a fake cockroach on a man's shoulder. It's just a little pest but can be a terror. I just wonder what makes us go wild when a cockroach just wanted to touch us or be friends with us, lol. Is it their nasty smell? For me, yes it's the disgusting smell. How bout you?

I don't like it. Don't exactly know what I hate about it, I just don't like and was afraid of it. It's not the smell as I don't try to smell it when it touches me, I screamed out loud and run

I've seen on TV some people eating cockroaches live but maybe they're much cleaner and smaller than the cockroaches found in our houses, but still ewwy!!

You are right, they should not be eaten but maybe because of the food scarcity that made them eat cockroach. :)

I expect many people around the world have never seen the Indian cockroach. They are MUCH bigger than the German or American varieties. (These are the names of the species, not their homelands!) Being hit by one isn't pleasant and can be downright dangerous if you are riding a motorbike at the time. Personally, I haven't smelled one - not that I would want to! What I hate most is when you tread on one, and a few minutes later, dozens of tiny bugs come out of the remains. That makes my skin creep!

You should write a wildlife documentary about Indian cockroaches.

You would know if a cockroach is approaching because of its nasty smell, ugh! I haven't seen bigger ones of German or American varieties yet and it would scare me so much if I did. I'll check it on the internet just to feed my curiosity. Do they really have tiny bugs coming from their remains? Whoa, I prefer Philippine cockroaches then :) Happy mylotting, sir!

If you mean earthworm, I am not afraid of it. Men don't usually scream but they jump or run if a cockroach happens to be on their shoulder :) Cheers!

I hate cockroaches with passion. I used to be so terrified with them and would just jump around but my sister forced me to face my fears and forced me to kill one. i started to become ok with it. Cockroaches are plain disgusting, maybe that's why a lot of us hates them, They also crawl in dirty places.

I would gather enough courage to kill a cockroach with a slipper or a broom before it flies towards me. But I do hate cleaning the remains afterwards, ugh! Anyway it's good you were able to face your fear. Just keep being courageous, who knows it might be a snake you're going to kill next. Just kidding! Thanks and happy mylotting....

Living in Florida I am no longer surprised when I see a cockroach. They tend to be common around here. That being said, I think people find cockroaches to be dirty. They crawl around in dark, damp corners and track the germs that pick up all over the place. Besides, most people don't care much for creepy, crawly things. At least that is my opinion.

It's the same here in the Philippines. They are almost everywhere. It's just the reactions we have when we see one or two of them come flying towards us and we start jumping, screaming, etc., that make it sometimes hilarious. I'm sure not only women do that but some men also. Thanks and happy mylotting, woody!

Fortunatly, we have small cockroaches in our country. They only try to get into the house (one each week) when I water too much the plants in Spring. I immediatly buy Raid and seal from the outside the possible ways of entering. I loathe them. And yes, they have a nasty smell. UGGHH!!!

Cockroaches are little annoying pests because they jittery and frightening and ugly! The roaches near my house are always so massive in size and you never want to splatter them because they keep moving and living without normally important body parts! Typically, thy are fast and sneaky so the encounter of one is usually at he worst time! Lately, I've been trying to resuce bugs alike by trapping them and then releasing them back inside so whenever I see one of these creatures, I do so!

I asked one of my friends if she would eat one and get paid in return. She said even if she gets a million pesos in return, she would never eat one! I don't know if I can :) Thanks, delle!

Which do you prefer, then, a cockroach or a rat? I always be on the alert when I see a cockroach. I get a broom and jump while shooing it away. I don't want it landing on me, lol! Good day, champoy!
