I have seen some amount of level on some members of mylot. How could I increase my level on mylot?

When you post in a particular interest section, you will often see "ranked xxx out of xxx in [interest]" against your name. This is determined by how often you post in that Interest and by how often and well you are rated by other users. The more that you post good quality, descriptive and useful content in those interests, the more people are likely to rate you positively.
When you reach a User Rating of 100, you will see your 'star' value which is your overall 'MyLot Reputation' and is controlled by how others have rated your posts. You can read more about it in the FAQs under "User Rating and MyLot Reputation".
The number in brackets next to your name is your User Rating and is NOT a strict 'post count'. It increases by 1 when:
1) You post a discussion which receives at least two responses OR one response and a comment
2) You post your first response or your first comment in any discussion. Most people will only post one response in a discussion, though it is possible to post more than one, but many people may post several comments in any particular discussion. The User Rating only increases for the FIRST of either or both that you make.
If that seems a little complicated, don't worry about it. You can easily see how it works for yourself by taking note of when it increases as you post. Once you understand that it is not a complete post count, you don't need to worry about it further but just understand that MyLot will reward you for ALL the good quality posts you make.

I hope that explains it somewhat. In the long run, none of these things matter very much. The most important thing is to enjoy taking part in MyLot ... in fact, have fun!

I also notice that number in a star above the member's name.We should participate always on the discussion here. Thanks, you raised this question. Now I know what it means.
