High blood pressure and kidney

I am not sure but I have High blood pressure and the only time anything about kidneys has been spoken about with my doctor was that she said one of the tablets I am on can affect the kidneys after years of use but as she said to me my blood pressure was so high I had to have them hopefully in years to come something better will come along or my blood pressure will improve.
