people say that the recent fight of manny p. versus marquez was a controversial one. wait, controversial because manny didn't win by a k.o.? we just had a huge expectations that's why some doubted that fight. we just expected that manny will k.o. marquez like what he did in most of his fight over a very big fighter like cotto, mosley, margarito and other big guys. we just have to be fair and respect what the judges decided. they are the most credible one. i hope that tehre will be a 4th fight and this time, manny will kill marquez. hehe!

I am disappointed with the fight and I was surprised by the decision. However, I don't think it's controversial. If it was a split decision then I may consider it controversial but when you have 2 out of 3 deciding in favor and other other one a draw, there's nothing controversial in it. Like you said, they are the most credible. The thing is, everyone is expecting that Marquez will hit the canvass, even the Mexicans were expecting it, that's why they're very disappointed when it didn't happen and more disappointed when even Marquez played defensive the entire bout. Before the bout, people were expecting a knock out but it seems that floyd's tactic has rubbed on Marquez and used the same style in the hopes that he'll beat Pacquiao just like how floyd beat him. During the bout, I didn't see the "Marquez" fighter that the people know but rather it seems as if it's floyd mayweather playing. I'm not an expert in boxing but these are what I came up to conclude. Marquez was beaten by floyd because of two things. First is size, when Marquez fought Mayweather, mayweather was so bulk up during the fight that Marquez was literally overwhelmed. Second is the defensive style tactic. Correct me if I'm wrong but I've never seen Mayweather do the offense, he's always on the defense. Now, Marquez and Pacquiao are very similar as far as moves and power is concerned. The conclusion is, if Mayweather has beaten Marquez then there's a chance that he'll beat Pacquiao if he adopts Mayweather's style. That's why Marquez had the size advantage during the fight and he's defensive style of boxing. That's also the reason why the fight was boring and the judges unanimous decision in favor of Pacquiao.

hi! also other thought came in my mind. maybe pacquiao deliberately did that kind of fight because he want gayweather to think that he can do boxing with manny and this is the time that we're all been waiting for. what do you think, ha? hehe!

It's clearly a win by Pacquiao. For those who see Marquez don't have a basis because by punch stats itself, Manny clearly won. When we also look at the score cards by the judges, if we do the math, Manny has the edge. I think the reason why many people see Marquez win is because they are expecting Manny to win convincingly. Also, we are watching HBO which shows replays of how Marquez hits Manny during replays. Thus, we are conditioned that Marquez is winning. The judges are right at the ringside and they see everyshot connected and missed. If their will be a 4th fight, I will still watch it because it is still exciting.

I was expecting a close fight because Marquez is a guy who actually fights Manny well. Manny just has more trouble agianst him.

I was one of those people who doubted the fight but when I saw the video on how marquez cheated by using the "foot stepping trick" I changed my mind. Marquez was clearly the cheater!

We have no right to criticize the decisions of the judges because judging a boxing fight requires a keen eye. Moretti, Trowbridge and and the third judge are all hardened and veteran scorers. Its their job, its what they do. Their decisions and further validated by the fact that Pacquiao threw more jabs, hooks, uppercuts, power punches and higher accuracy percentages according to site compubox.com. It was exactly what happened to the de la Hoya versus Mayweather fight. Everyone thought de la Hoya won when in fact Mayweather was indeed the busier fighter. Pacman's inability to fight the way he used to is explaned also by the fact that Marquez is a dirty boxer, stepping on Manny's foot every time Manny attacks. Juan Manuel Marquez, a dirty fighter imploring dirty tactics, a disgrace to all honorable Mexican boxers.

Marquez should stepped up his game... Instead of just trying to hide from the fists of pacquiao... And then again he fought pacquiao he was in every right of being overwhelmed for he was facing a prestiged fighter:p
