I prefer any detergent that smells good. I like Gain, Tide, Downey etc. It just matters to me that it get's the job done and leaves my clothes smelling great. My roomate on the other hand swears by it being the only she will ever use. If she has to use mine because her's is out she complains the entire time. Does anyone else have this problem? I mean I know Tides awesome but doesnt the same smell everyday learn it's value? like the smell seems to go away after a while anyway. Just my thoughts on that.

I'm addict because it is the best detergents . ive been trying a lot with other kind but it is not the same ,it is the best. I dont like smell too , i dont like downey the smell is so strong, but it is ok. If you like strong smell for your clothes it is ok, i can't deal with my bed stuff.

Downey is strong and I don't mind if it's too strong or not I just like to be able to smell something haha. Anything that smells good for a few days at least works for me. Well basically as long as after it's been washed it smells good until I wear it next that's what I appreciate about a good detergent. It's hard when some fabric softners mix and the smells come out differently. So you do have to buy the same kind fabric softer with detergent in most cases.

Hi Friend, Good question... Here in our country, there are lots of detergent brands. We have Tide, Ariel, Surf, Champion etc... etc... In fabric softeners, we have downy, del, surf... I myself use different kind of detergent depends on what washing technique do i have to do. For white clothes - Ariel (this is for soaking) For washing machine - Pride (I used it for almost 15 years) For undergarments - Tide (Its good in removing dirt and stain too.)

I would have never thought to use different ones for different types of laundering. That's interesting. We do have Surft too it's not too bad, and I've liked the smells. Ariel is not one I've ever heard of as well as the Pride one. But that's a good idea. I might have to try that.

Hi. I guess the smell of any detergent eventually wears off. But for me, it's how long it wears off that matters. I'm a Tide user myself since amongst the brands I tried, the smell of it lasts the longest. And I like wearing clothes that smell freshly washed.

Oh most def. it's important to have your clothes smelling clean but almost all the detergents I mentioned do too. Gain lasts so long that I've been able to smell it in the store standing next to someone or when my nieces and nephews come over I can smell it. Gain's awesome in that factor. I think Suavital(sp) is good for that too. I don't mean that the smell wears off longer or shorter what I meant was like with perfumes. If you wear the same scent long enough it doesnt smell the same or isn't as strong anylonger. So naturally you change it up with a different one and switch on and off. It's the same for me with detergents.
