It's almost Christmas. People decorate Christmas trees. But do we really know its origin? Some historians trace the origin of the Christmas tree from different people in the past. Some say it originated from Martin Luther who attached lighted candles to a small evergreen tree; some say that Germans and Scandinavians placed evergreen trees inside their homes or just outside their doors to show their hope that spring would come; some condemn the Christians because they believe it to be a Christian symbol; others condemn it because the custom of cutting down a tree and even decorating it inside their home is a Pagan custom. Hmmmm, but most say that Christmas, together with the Christmas tree, originated from Paganism. Today we celebrate Christmas and decorate trees to remember the hope and joy Christ's birth has given us. What do you believe about the Christmas tree? It's an interesting topic to study and research.
