i always tend to see the negative and the bad things in life. and i feel that it didn't bring any good and made me lose the opportunity to be more successful in life. and i hope that i can finally get rid of pessimism and be more optimist and try to be more hardworking and inspired in life. and reach my dreams in life.

You might find it helpful to read some inspirational and positive thinking books. I recommend The Secret by Rhonda Byrne-it helped me a lot with positive thinking. Being positive makes your whole life better! Congratulations for making the choice to live a more positive life! :)

Hi Hotsummer. I'm an optimist almost all of the time. One thing I've learned, is that when starting to only think negatives, I have to change my own mindset about it all. Ever notice how our minds go in a loop when we're thinking negatively about some things? When that happens, we have to get out of the loop of negative thoughts, which only drag us down more. What I do sometimes is to write my negative feelings on one side of a piece of paper, then try and write down on the other side, positive things about the situation. This forces me to see both sides of the coin, and actually weigh it in my mind. They say for every negative, there is a positive side. And, with every negative thing that happens to us, there is a positive that goes with it (if we're willing to take the time to look for it.) When I went through my cancer experience (a years worth of treatments, surgeries, etc) I found myself really really looking at a whole lot of negatives. At that time I started a 'gratitude journal.' That really helped me get rid of negative feelings & emotions. When a person is faced with more negatives than positives, it helps to find something for, even if it is small and seems meaningless at the time. If we're thankful for it, then it is a positive: so it went on the list. Having pages that visibly showed me the positives (while totally ignoring the negatives) was a huge help in making me think more positively on things. One other thing I did when I got in a pessimistic mood, was to allow myself a 10 minute 'pity-party'. For 10 minutes I'd let myself obsess on the negative, then when the timer went off, that was the end, and I did not let myself dwell on the negatives, and did something for myself that made me happy and thankful for the positives I DID have. I hope you achieve your dreams in life! Learning to over-rule pessimism will help you reach your dreams:-)
