Anime Censorship

What do you think about anime censorship? My personal opinion is that it is best uncensored ir else the storyline does get altered. The things that were taken out could have made the plot make more sense or interesting. Here's an example in the dub version of One Piece when it was airing on TV Sanji had a lolipop not a cigarette. Supposely, also some fight scenes were cut out. Next is Naruto dub version sometimes they erased blood and edited out some scenes. Those are just 2 examples Anime is not just for kids it is for everyone. Yes there are articles around where a kid burried his head in sand and wanted to be like Gaara that is an unfortunate incident. Kids should not be influenced doing things like their favorite character. I remember when I was 5 I started to watch anime I watched it because it was intresting it was just a show on TV. I know this is off-topic but I watched South Park at 9 that show was so funny just because the characters swore and were rude I didn't follow as they are bad manners. To me it as a show a form of entertainment. In conclusion, I like my anime uncensored.

Because some anime is for older audiences and is being aired on a channel aimed at kids, sometimes it has to be censored. But some anime on Adult Swim is censored because Cartoon Network made that decision. It is very hard to get anime on TV because it's expensive so in order to get as many people to watch it, and possibly buy the uncut DVDs and Blu-rays, they have to censor some things. I like uncut, but I can always see the DVDs if I HAVE to see it uncut.

Some of the shows mentioned in the comments do kind of push the limits for normal TV. But if you say you want uncensored, then you might get what you want and the dark side of human nature would be fair game. Murder, rape, incest or whatever should be accepted?

I also prefer my anime to be uncensored and uncut. I find it kind of ridiculous when anime gets censored when we have American cartoons showing the same if not worse things (just look at Family Guy with Peter running around naked, Stewie killing things and potheads roaming around). But I guess part of the blame goes towards the company that is distributing these anime titles.

I also very agree with you. The censorship could ruin the story and make the anime goes not according to the original works. If they thinks it is not suitable for kids then they should move the airing time to time where kids might not watch it. And i also agree that anime are not only for kids but for everyone but sadly the dub version always make it so only children can watch it since they censor it and sometimes change the conversation in it too. As for me, i'm prefer to watch the original Japan anime because there were no censor and we can understand the story completely like the author meant it to be.
