Yuvi has been dropped from the team for the third test and he has been replaced by Rohit Sharma. Do you think this is also means that he is out of the Australian series? Is this the end of the road for his test aspirations? What are your views on this topic? Cheers! Ram

Too bad but yuvi has not been in the best form in this series even though pitches are good for batting. Would be interesting to see who gets play. would it be virat kohli or rohit sharma?

Yes, Yuvi has failed to capitalize on the chances that he has had in this series. I think he has missed the bus to Australia because of this. I think it would be a three way tussle between Kohli, Raina and Rohit for the start in the team. Cheers! Ram

raina is playing in domestic cricket. he is in the same boat as yuvi. he was dropped for poor performance in england. he is not in the squad. so the fight is between rohit sharma and virat kohli.

Sorry I got my facts wrong on this one. You are correct, Raina is not there in the squad for this series. So the toss up is between Kohli and Rohit. Cheers! Ram

Hi ram, Yes, Yuvraj Sing has been dropped for the third Test. Methinks they are giving a chance to Rohit Sharma. Actually for Test Match batman like Rohit suits as they maintain patience and hit balancing the patterns of the bowler of the opponent. I do not think this is a wrong move. Howver though different people hold different opinions. Rajiv.

Yes, Rohit's style of play is very much suited for the test matches. He does play with a lot of patience. Also he had a great Ranji season this time around. Cheers! Ram

Yes, now he has won the ODI and T20 world cups. His motivation in the two forms will go down. His only key failure has been on the test arena. Cheers! Ram

@rajib, I think This is the end for Yuvi so far as tests are concerned and this will reflect in his odi performance as well. He has already started sliding in t-20 post 2007. He will settle down to play IPL and odi as even his fielding has gone down considerably and he has fitness issues too. Rohit has got the technique and the shots to excell in all formats but the issue is does he he have the temperament to succeed at test level.

For the sake of India's victory its right that Yubi is out from the third test nut i dont think that his career ends. He has all the proficiency and power to have a sit in India's team after some weeks. Have a nice time.

Yes, he has made a lot of comebacks for India. Every year for the last 9 years he has played at least one test match. The problem is the fact that he has not been able to seal his place in the test match till now. Cheers! Ram

I too believe that he will have a great come back in the team after sometime, as we have seen it many times before. Absolutely he is just an outstanding personality. His performance in the cricket world cup was mind blowing.

He had to be!!! He was given a long rope. He failed to do justice to the many many chances he was given. His only hope is go back to the Domestic grind and relearn the virtues of playing the long innings. But, the hope is faint and I doubt he will ever make a comeback. Like bhajji, Yuvi's Test career too is over. But, thankfully, we have good replacement in form of Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Chetaswara Pujara, etc.

Yes, he has been given a long rope. He has not really taken his chances at the international level. I think he would have to remain happy with the T20 and ODI world cup!! Cheers! Ram

It doesnt mean that yuvi is out of indian test for ever. He can come back if he performs well in odi. But he got many chances in test but he didnt use it well, thats a fact. And it also depends no how the other player user his spot? It may be raina or virat. If its raina he should score well then only he can gain that spot permanently. If its virat, then batting order may change. It will depend no how virat play in lower middle order? If virat is included in place of yuvi, will the batting order get shuffled? Will dhoni change the batting order of team? And yuvi is always dhonis favourite so he may get the chance again.

I think the Australian tour gives a great opportunity for whichever player wants to stake claim for the Indian team. If Kohli or Rohit perform well on that tour then they will cement their place. Then I do not think Yuvi will get another chance. Cheers! Ram

Finally virat got the chance in that one spot. Yuvi don't looks like a dedicated player as he was in the past. It looks like he is playing silly cricket. surely he can play ODI, but not playing well in tests.

Yuvi is aware that his test career is over and he knows this is one aspect of his cricket that he has failed in. One solution is to play more shots against the short ball but without working on his judgement of length of the short ball he cannot move forward.Everyone knows he can pull but if he cannot be sure of which ball to pull he will always be vulnerable. Yuvi is the most talented left hander India has ever produced but his technical flaw can only be overcome by courage and guts and one person who can help him is Mohinder Amarnath who was far less talented but far more courageous than any other Indian batsman when it came to facing the short stuff from the fastest and the meanest bowlers of the world at that time.

I think for one as talented as he is, it is a pity that he could not really make it big in the test matches. This is his 9th year in test cricket. He has played every year at least one match. Overall in 9 years he has played in 36 odd matches and has not been able to cement his place just yet!! Cheers! Ram

i think it is not good idea to drop out yuvi because yuvi is not much playing after world cup . he played very well in world cup but now he is fit so i think he will get chance against australia.

Yes, Yuvi has not done anything much to notice since the world cup. He did play a couple of good innings in the ODIs against England. But in the test matches has been a disappointment. Cheers! Ram

Yes. I also do not subscribe to the view that Yuvi deserves being dropped. However I think he may get chance again when the substitute for him is not playing well. I do not see this as the end of his career.

Yes, but how many more chances do you think Yuvi will get. He has been given 36 test matches over a period of 9 years. He simply has not been able to take the position for good. Cheers! Ram

Yuvraj was not at all good with his batting in this series. So, I think he may not be selected for the Australian test series. Anyway, Virat Kohli may replace Yuvi. If he play well in the coming match, selectors may give him an opportunity in the Australian series also.

Yes, Yuvraj squandered his chances in this series. I also think he has missed out on the Australian tour. If someone performs well in the Australian series, then he might not get another chance again!! Cheers! Ram
