Australia are 142/3 chasing 310 to win in the final innings. Their chase started disastrously as Vernon Philander had both the openers back in the pavilion very early. But fighting half centuries from Ponting and Khawaja brought the Aussies back into the match. Just before the close though Imran Tahir got rid of Khawaja. Can Ponting lead Australia to an improbable victory? Cheers! Ram

Its cut pretty close at the moment, but considering statistics from the last 3 Aussie innings, SA should pull this off comfortably. The need to strike early tomorrow though

I think the first session tomorrow is going to be the key. Australia would not want to lose a wicket in that session. South Africa on the other hand would want early wickets in this session. Cheers! Ram

I dont think so as it will be 5th day tomorrow and they already loose 2 wickets early ....so they will be under pressure ...on other hand SA playing on home ground so they know the condition better ..so will totally go with SA.

Oh yes, it was indeed a superb delivery by Philander. At one stage Australia were 165 for 5. But, now they are on the top position. Now Haddin on the crease with 55 runs and Mitchel Johnson with 31 runs.

Australia went on to win the match though. Finally Haddin and then later Johnson ensured that they crossed the line. Fittingly debutant Cummins scored the winning runs after his 6 for destroyed the South Africans. Cheers! Ram

I have been supporting SA. So from that angle I wish SA wins. Let not Ponting succeed in getting a victory for his team. !! have a good day.

Unfortunately, Australia went on to win the match. Of course Ponting got out pretty early. But first Hussey and then Johnson ensured that Australia managed to cross the line with 2 wickets in hand. Cheers! Ram

Ram - That is ok Mr.Ram. Aussies have made 310/8 and won that means they have played very well and got the victory. Now my approach will be to support Aussies for their good performance and to give good cricket. I did not watch the match. I think it would have been interesting for aussies.

Update - No overs bowled today till lunch today (final day) due to rain and early lunch being taken. As per update at 12:25 PM local time, sun is out and shining brightly and 70 over possible which means all four results (SA win, Aus Win, Draw or a Tie) are possible.

May be Aus would have had an upper hand if they had not lost Khawaja right at the end. That makes it more interesting now, particularly with both teams finding it difficult with their lower middle order performance. Sets up for an intriguing final day's play.

After some interesting moments in the match, I think Australia may win this match. Now they need 27 runs from 25 over with four wickets in their hand.

Another turnaround, as Haddin is dismissed. SA needing 3 more wkts and Aus needing 22 more runs, to win.
