i know that i have to pay my monthly payments for my SOcial Security System membership so that when i get old or the right age i would get a monthly allowance and i can ask for some advanced money and other benefits for the elderly. but i was too lazy to do that and i usually spend all my money i earned in busying things and spending on lot of things.

Are you talking of the Philippine SSS? If so, don't delay your monthly SS premium. The more number of months you've paid your premiums, the bigger will be your benefit in pension money you'll receive after retirement. Of course there are various levels of premiums SSS members pay because of the differences in income. The least number of months that a member pays is 120 months or 10 years, then he may opt to retire, if he reaches the age of 60, and wait for his pension upon proper application. Members may opt to continue paying premiums if they so desires despite reaching the age of 60. The beauty of a prolong payment is the promise of a higher pension than when you retire at 60. In the Philippine SSS, you can no longer pay the premiums for backlog months or months that you've failed to pay premiums. Instead, you are permitted to pay in advance, say, 3 months, 6 months or 1 year advance. What I've discussed is a member paying on voluntary basis. I knew this and want to share it with the community because I am now an SS pensioner who was a member paying on voluntary basis. Believe in the adage: Make hay while the sun shines. Don't be lazy to pay your premiums. Don't busy yourselves in spending money on trivial things. Pay premium diligently and promptly. You'll need it in your olden days. It's good if your children can take care of your day-to-day expenses without the sour expression of their faces. With your pension supporting you, you can look straight into everybody's eye. Why? Because you are not a headache to your children, neighbors and the community. Believe me.

I think you should start paying it as early as you can so that you can get your benefits later on.
