the chinese economy, is it overheating?

I was having an interesting discussion with another mylot member about the chinese economy, when the discussion got deleted, and we will never know why. but it was a very interesting discussion. china has experienced a long period of massive growth, but like many economies that have high growth for a long time it is now experiencing inflation, with house prices increasing, and other asset bubbles. here's a link to one of many articles in the economist on the chinese economy http://www.economist.com/node/21533412 for anyone interested, lets have a discussion, I would love to know what you think.

hello oldsix, its very kind of you to reply to my old discussion that no one responded to. i was having quite an interesting conversation with another mylotter, who is from singapore, and then it got deleted. and it will be quite interesting to see how things develop. because it is good for the chinese population that the country is so much more prosperous, but for us western nations our manufacturing base has been undermined, but i think that was something that would have happened anyway. and now a more prosperous china will change its position in the world in relation to other countries, and it will be very exciting to see what happens. thank you for your reply.

I can see there's someone who pay more attention to China's military than China's economy,it seems they are expecting China's developing as well as fearing its developing, why?

hello oldsix, i am sorry i haven't replied earlier to your comment, i either didn't get or missed the notification. yes, i have been reading about china building up their military strength, i think perhaps the rest of the world is seeing how powerful china potentially is and perhaps overreacting a little too much. as a war with their neighbours would undermine china's export driven economic growth somewhat, and is probably not sensible for that reason alone. so i think its just silly speculation.

I think it may have been deleted because you included 'links' to it - I think that may be why... but yes, it is a very interesting topic, I'm so glad to see any country growing and flourishing after so many years of poverty and depression...

yes it is interesting, i also find it fascinating to be able to talk to real chinese people on mylot, as the impression i get when i read newspapers is so different to what real people say, that its really nice to be able to make a comparison,
