If you could only go one place in your lifetime ...

If you were told that you would only be given on trip during your lifetime where would you want to go? I myself am torn between Ireland and Black Rock City, Nevada. I'm 3/4 Irish and have always wanted to go to see where my family came from and I've always wanted to kiss the Blarney stone ( like I need to be able to talk any more than I already do ); but Black Rock City is the home of the Burning Man Art festival something I have been dreaming of attending for over 7 years now. I know that I am one of those people that will most likely only get the opportunity once or twice to do any real traveling and have actually started saving to be able to do so, but I can't decide which to pick. I am an artist and have works in my mind that can only ever be brought to existence at the Burning Man festival do to size and their interactive nature, and fell in love with the amazing works I've seen online from previous festivals. On the other hand I've never seen land as beautiful as the Irish fields and cliff scapes and could spend a lifetime sketching and painting them or even just standing back and starring at the work of the greatest artist ever (yes I mean the Lord, so how would one choose? But these are just my top two, where would you go if you could only choose one trip?

I could be traveling to the land of Jewish, Jerusalem. I travel and pilgrimage at the same time. This is probably the only place I would visit if I have got much money. God Bless Me and Thank You. Good Luck

Oh wow! How I wish the question with be places. But since only one place, I would say Europe. I really wanted to visit Venice. I love romance and Europe specially Venice is the land of love. Well then, I hope Artisans are still there ha ha ha.

Europe seems to be THE place to visit among mylotters and most share your attraction to it's romantic reputation. I hope the Artisans are there for you and that you get to take the trip and it meets or exceeds your expectations. Thank you for the reply.

I'm looking for that place. I rescue Animals and I would actually love to live in a place that people were actually Vegans and good to Animals, but that place doesn't exist yet. I know it will, the move we evolve the more we'll be better to all life forms. But until then...no where special really. It's just I love them so much. Happy Mylotting.

If there is only one place it will be Scotland, I prefer somewhere alone.

Scotland is a beautiful country so I can so see the attraction there. I also plan to take my big trip alone, if my hubby doesn't have a stroke over that part. Especially if I go to Burning Man as I want to be able to experience it my own way and have met very few people that would be as open to trying the different aspects of the event as I am without going completely nuts. I hope you get to take your trip and thank you for the reply.

I really want to go to Amsterdam because they have a lot of good medication there! :) But really I don't know, because I would love to go to Hawaii or Jamaica but I'm not sure I have the funds to do so, so I probably wouldn't make it to Amsterdam either! Maybe one day when I acquire a decent portion of my income and online earnings, I will plan a trip to Amsterdam because it seems like it would be a jolly good time!

As being one that comes from a family that names their children things like Freedom I know many people that would love to join you in Amsterdam. Maybe you could get a group of like minded people together to help you make that dream come true. I have one family member trying to be a judge at a certain event out there in order to help him reach the same dream. Best of luck my friend.

I think I will be choosing Kashmir. Heaven on earth. I am definitely going to plan it myself, if no one else plans for me. :)

You know I had to look this one up. You have good taste. I say don't wait for any one else to plan it for you. If you have the means go for it.

I have been on many different trips and it would have been a miserable life if I had only been on one trip. I traveled to Europe when I was an inexperienced traveler and now I am an experienced traveler I go to places like South America and Africa. I went to South Africa the year before last, Canada last year and Colombia earlier this year. On my travel wish for the future are many places including the Philippines for island hopping and snorkeling, Madagascar for seeing animals, Machu Picchu in Peru, the Taj Mahal in India, the Great Wall in China, the Galapagos Islands and Rio in Brazil. If I only only visit one it would be the Galapagos Islands for cruising around islands and seeing the unique wildlife.

Wow you really have been every where. I would also love to see Machu Picchu in Peru. Maybe after the kids are all raised I can hope to travel more but as of right now I do feel that 1 big trip is what I see as being my limit. In all honesty though the rug rats were so worth the sacrifice, as they are an adventure all their own. LOL Thank you for sharing

Basing your trip choice on love and romance is so cool. I hope you get to go and that it lives up to your expectations.

My dream destination for now is Greece. I have been in Europe but I missed out traveling to Greece but not a bad thing as I have something to look for in the future and it makes me strive harder to reach that goal. I've been reading about Santorini as one of the most beautiful and romantic places in the entire planet, and if you have seen the movie Mamma Mia, the place called Skopelos, I'm sure the place is so attractive for anyone to miss in their "Vacation Spots" list! Happy MyLotting and this is one great topic.

Thanks for the compliment and the reply. Those sound like such great trips. My youngest son wants to see Greece, telling the stories of the different Greek gods has been a fave of mine at bed time his whole life so I can so understand where he gets it from.
