Eboue pelted with bottles and lighters

Ex-Arsenal ace Emmanuel Eboue was pelted with bottles and lighters during Galatasaray’s 0-0 draw with rival Besiktas at the weekend. This is simply disgusting and totally uncalled for. Was this racial abuse or just the abuse of the opposition. I know that in Spain some players like Eto'o were commonly abused at quite a few clubs. But this incident is from Turkey, so it is not clear if it was racial abuse or just the fact that it was an opponent!! Either way it is totally unacceptable on a football pitch. Cheers! Ram

I am not sure of the motive too. But it is well-known among opposition supporters that stadium at Turkey can be volatile place to be in.
