The University of Wisconsin system has NO responsibility to provide voter ID cards to their students. Any eligible voter in Wisconsin can get a voter ID free from the state, simply by stating they can't afford the $5 fee.
However, the UW system is now complaining that they "have" to spend $700 million (every 2 years) providing their students with voter ID cards (separate from their regular student IDs).
Apparently the UW system is just rolling in money!

I don't see why any of this drama is necessary. If the student is over 18 which I would assume you'd have to be they should already have an ID aside from a student ID. You need an ID, to get a job, to open a bank account, and to cash checks at stores to name a few.
Why don't they just comply with the measure with newly issued ID's and if a student wants a more current ID have them pay for it to be reissued or go down to the DMV and get a state ID or license.

Because the poor can't afford them, and the elderly and handicapped might not be able to do that.

I don't know Peavey, but that's the pat answer of the pro voter fraud left when anyone brings up the issue of voter ID cards. lol

EEK! Nice catch!!
They are doing it so they can blame the extra expense on Walker and the Republicans. There is no other reason at all.
