I have ove 15 years of experiences with this software. I like it a lot. I do all my 3d modeling with AutoCAD. They made such an approvement now with latest versions and its really nice to use it now. As I know to make lots of things I am looking for some online jobs, but cannot find nothing. What is your experiences with AutoCAD? Do you use it? Do you know where to find some work?

The best way to learn it is being forced to use it. Try to draw some easy forms and then go forward with more complex drawings. About tutorials I think you can find a lot, even free ones.

Hello, serginho! I too used to work in AutoCAD a lot. It's a very easy and intuitive program, especially the 2D part. I used to work in it in the forst 3 years of college. I finished landscape architecture college and at one point, ACAD was no longer enough for my needs. I had a lot of maps and plans to do that were easier to make with GIS programs. As for the 3d part, i use Rhino. It's very user-freindly and has a brilliant way of working with nurbs. What can I say, i like a program that has a command line :) Everyone nowadays uses 3ds Max, though in my opinion it is very unintuitive and hard to learn , especially for someone that hasn't worked in 3d modelling. Unfortunately, since max is used by so many and has been "adopted" by autodesk, it's highly compatible now with all the other autodesk software, like AutoCAD , autodeskMAP, etc. Also many render engines are calibrated for max and get updated faster for max than for other softwares, plus the net is full of 3d models and textures for max, which are reasons enough for one to try and learn the program. It's kind of a little monopoly if you ask me, but then again, if we look at the windows franchise, we notice a certain pattern :) In other words, though i dislike max pretty much, i see myself in need of learning it and ...going back to the roots with autocad for the 2d and even 3d modelling, because the 2 are now so compatible. Not a pleasant thought for me, but ACAD makes it bareable :P As for what you said about working online with this software, I personally haven't found such a thing so far, because it is pretty tempting. Try o-desk, from what i know they have a pretty good data-base and and interesting work-online system. Good luck and if you have an online portfolio, do share, please :D I'm very curious about your work!

You have lots of experiences in 3D modeling as I see. I also use a little 3ds max. Noe I try Blender, its ok too, simple, bt I think too simple for my work. I will give you my portfolio with my work.

Hi serginho: That's great. In my case, I must say that I don't know how to sue it because in my work I don't need to work on graphics. I have tried to explore the program by myself and the result is that I did not understand it so I have never tried to work on it again. ALVARO

I use autoCAD from 7 years, when I went to university I started use it. Now I use it very few times cause I'm writing my thesis. Then I'll search for a job where I can use it. I always use another program to draw called Allplan. They are both very good, but the problem is that they cost too much. Some days ago I downloaded Double CAD XT it's similar to Autocad, but it's free. Anyway it's too earl to judge it.

there are many other programs like AutoCAD, but I think AutoCAD is still the best.

I myself ever learned to use this software to help my friend made a 3D house model , but it's just because I am not so familiar with some tools and some of the commands used, I began to rarely use it. so my friend suggested me to learn 3DMax, which is still a 3D software. but then I had to leave 3DMax, just because my computer specs are very low. and honestly I still want to learn 3D software
