I just read an article about a survival shop and that business is hopping. People are getting prepared in the case of society collapsing. http://stlouis.cbslocal.com/2011/11/23/survival-shop-reports-jump-in-sales-to-people-preparing-for-possible-collapse/ Are you and your family prepared. With water, food, medication etc? Why or why not?

I usually don't believe in such stories. I believe no one knows what will happen about tomorrow apart from God.

I cannot be prepared to something that I don't believe in.

Well I don't, I need to though, that's for sure. Stock up on toilet paper when it's on sale as well, and try to keep as much dry food as possible. If nothing else so that I'll always having something to eat if finances get too tight.

Thats another reason we do it. It seems food is the best investment right now and if you can get a good price, better grab it when you can

I do have some dried food, and canned soup plus canned tomatoes. I also have some onions, but not much above that. I am afraid that up; here in the Canadian Prairies, unless we have fireplaces and fire burning stoves for the winter, when it gets cold there will be little chance of survival. I do have frozen food in the freezer, and I can gather snow and put it in pails, but that is all. And of course, if the electricity and gas goes, there is not much we can do. Those who live where it is warmer would have a better chance of survival.

I am in a pretty cold climate too. We also do not have a fireplace but we do have a small fire pit.

Yes, I believe the bond market, dollar, etc. could and may collapse. With that in the back of my mind, I've been buying more canned goods, etc. I actually want to fill up all the pantries and store stuff in the wellhouse. If I had the money, I'd buy a generator (I had one and it was stolen while I was building). Then I'd have water, heat, etc., as long as I could get fuel for the generator. My plan is to go get my Mom and her dog in town and bring them out here and let my neighbors protect us. Most have "arsenals" and know how to use them...

I am not prepared and I do not believe in this collapse. I know the economy is bad and all, but I think we will be alright. We live in a world of convenience and I doubt anyone will be prepared for anything. All the preparation is fine and all, but if something really happened, I think people would panic anyway. It would be like you never prepared in the first place.

Nice question... xD I think that everybody should know something about survival. I always have some food that dont spoil very fast in my kitchen in case of something happen, but I really dont belive that we'll collaps from one day to another... If that happen, nobody will be prepared, is one thing I know. And you? What do you think? Are you prepared? Or just think its a waste of time those ideas?

Yes we are prepared. Food, water, ammo etc. We could easily be fine for at least 6 months. I think it is always a good idea.
