Good listeners for me has more knowledge and more insight for a particular matter, because most of the time they just listen to a person or observes the scenario. They tend to look first and gain more information about a specific matter or what a person is talking about so if it comes to a pont that they need to react or give there opinion they are more informed and can give answer to cover there basis. So good listeners are more informed, in my stand point. Look at shrinks there so gooodd at giving advise....

Hi deodavid, Yes, good listeners sometimes give good advice. They gain more insight on what the other person is talking about. It really takes an effort to listen and assess the other person's feelings or emotions before somebody can give any advice. The insight or advice given should encourage and cheer up the person, and not hurt his feelings.

this is so true, a lot of people are just interested in them-selves and don't take the time to hear people, we can learn from everyone as everyone has a story and if you listen to others you can learn nor only from their experiences but from their mistakes saving yourself from making the same mistakes so listening is a good thing.

Yes, of course when you listen first, you will be able to know what is really being pointed out. And after listening, you can already give whatever appropriate advise you can give in relation to it.

Absolutely. You need to be a good listener in order to be a good communicator. Not only will you get to know the person in front of you, but also you'll be able to understand them. This is the key to empathy!
