Some say the year 2012 will be the end of the world. Fortune tellers think so. But in reality, is there really evidence of that actually happening? Like is an asteroid the size of Greenland gonna hit Earth or something. The thought just scares me but i'm pretty sure its not happening soon. What do you think? please share your thoughts.

No. People just love to be scared. It's all hoax and we should not be worried because only God knows when the world will make its last spin.

You're right, only God knows what will happen. But what if God designed for the world to end in 2012?

Every since I was a kid I remember the adults talking about the end of the world. I remember when I was a kid, another kid said his mother said the world was going to end in 2000. Well, Y2K came and went and nothing happened. I remember being scared by it.. and then we had that time in September or so when that crazy preacher said the end of the world was going to happen... and of course the 2012 date for the world to end. NO.. the world isn't going to end... unless there is an asteroid that I don't know about that's going to hit the earth. I think the Mayans just got tired of making the calendar .. i mean how long were they to keep adding days to it? Eventually these people became extinct or whatever.. I believe there will be an end at sometime.. not to the world, but I think WE will become extinct for some reason.

An American scientist or something said that we miscalculated the end of the Mayan Calendar, so doom would probably come a little later than we think. Priests of the church said the end of the world is coming during the year 2000, it never happened. Someday we are gonna go bye2 from this world. We are destroying the Earth faster than any creature that walked this planet, maybe we will cause our own demise. The threat of nuclear war is also a possible way to die. Even so, life is short, we might as well live it to the fullest.

Only God knows about that. Let's just pray that the prediction of fortune tellers will not be happening. illegal logging, improper waste disposal, etc are the result of earth's destruction.

Interesting question, and the Bible has the answer, no human knows when Harmageddon will come. We were given information from Jesus what signs we would look for that would show that we are near the time. But not even Jesus knew the exact time while he was on earth. Please read Matthew 24th chapter. Also Luke 21 and Mark 13 talk about this. I found an interesting article with the question if this world will survive.. http://www.watchtower.org/e/t19/article_01.htm Why not read it and compare with your own bible. You will also find a bible on the same site - watchtower.org - and maybe in a language you understand best or like to read. There are other translations in biblegateway.com - I like to go there and compare - but the New World Translation is very accurate, so I recommend it. According to the Bible the planet Earth will not be destroyed, only the wicked people and governments. The new government over all the earth will be Jesus Christ and some that have been chosen by God, but most good people will have the possibility to live on the erth in a paradise for ever if they continue to obey God, the source of love. You can read about it in Psalm 37, and why not keep on learning more about this wonderful time that is not far away!

Hello, ardieboi. My thought... it is not going to happen the way Hal Lindsey says, and that is because he changes his mind. I do know this, it is going to happen with fire. The earth will destroy itself and man will be alive to see it. Fire from above and from below. The sun and magma. I have a belief that it will happen within the next 50 years, and not really because of what science says, ( I love science , but many scientists dont have a clue as to what they are talking about) but because of what the Bible says. It is about the geneologies. From Adam to Yashua (Jesus) 3930 years passed. When the destruction of jerusalem took place, 4000 years of earths history passed. I am a believer in the world having to "work" for 6000 years and then "resting" for 1000. One day as a thousand years. YAHVAH (GOD) created everything in 6 days and rested on the seventh. So, if 4000 years passed at the time Jerusalem fell, then that would mean that only 2000 years remain. Jerusalem fell in 70 (68) A.D. you do the math. There will be a warning for those who need a sign. It will be Halleys comet. It will return in 2061. Just "7" years from the time I believe the earth will burn. If you look at Halleys comet, you will see some Interesting facts, and even some prophetic events. I believe that Halleys comet is a predictor of events. Look at the evidence. 2068 people. You were warned. May YAHVAH bless you in your search for truth. :) :) :)

Nobody knows when the end is near, it can be in 5,10 or 100 years but God said I will come like a thief. Why trying to predict, it will only discourage you all. Let us do good till the end.
