At the age of 7, my daughter has 18 pairs of shoes excluding those that doesn't fit her anymore, and those that are worn out.Whenever we go to malls, her eyes are drooling over shoes, slippers and sandals.Whenever she talks to her Auntie, she always request for a pair of shoes or any footwear.
I wonder where she got her love for foot wears. When i only have two pairs when i was at her age..To think that she is only 7,how much more when she turns 15.Maybe then her room will be full of foot wears.
Do you share the same interest with my daughter? How many pairs of shoes do you have now?

Yes I love shoes, sandals and slippers. I actually have some that I only used once and some that I still haven't used. Some I bought because I really liked it but can't when I want to wear can't find any clothes that will match it. So I end up buying another one. It's really crazy but because now that my mom and i have the same shoe size I tell her to wear those that I don't like anymore

are you using them? you should coz she might get hurt if you don't
Yes it is really a good thing that she can wear my shoes, it's a little loose if she wear mine coz mine is a little bigger but it's okay coz she feels comfortable wearing my shoes.

Oh wow! That's how it is with my little girl also. She loves different kinds of footwears. We once went to the mall and there was a pair of sandals she like so much. If I ignore and tell her maybe we can come back next time for it, she would not leave the shoes, or throw tantrums attracting viewers which is embarrassing until I have to buy it. What I did was forget about the list and bought the shoes (an expensive one!) The next time we went out, she was again after another pair of shoes, and she has enough shoes, some are gifts, that she can't even always use them. I do worry about when she'll be a teenager.

Oh dear, good thing Daniella don't know much about that "tantrum " thing. :-D that's because i always tell her the truth before we go to malls. Before we go to malls,i will tell her how much is our budget and where those budget should go.If we don't have extra for shoes,we will just go to the shoe section and look for something good .She will tell me what she wants so i can see how much that will cost me.So that next time we sure have money to buy that pair. :-D

I also do that, and my daughter says yes with nods, lol. But when we go to the mall and sees shoes she likes, she forgets about what we have agreed on. By that, I knew what to do next time which is to avoid going to the shoes section unless we are going to buy. Thanks :)

I have several pairs of shoes. But, I have a tendency to get rid of them when they are really worn out. Or I find I just don't wear them anymore. When I was younger I had a variety of shoes. Now I am happy with just a certain selection of shoes. Those for special occasions, walking, gardening, everyday shoes, summer shoes.
I know there are many people that love shoes. I know I enjoyed getting all kinds of different shoes years ago. When I was in my teens and 20's, one matched their purse and their shoes. So if I had red shoes I also had a red purse. People don't match them that often anymore.
I would say 18 pairs of shoes is a lot for your daughters age. Maybe a suggestion would to get rid of the ones that are worn out to make room for another pair. Or donate the ones that don't fit anymore to less fortunate children.
Have a nice day.

Hi Tamirs,
That is good that the shoes are shared with her cousins. I know of people that just throw the old shoes away, when they could have given them to someone or to a charity, for someone who could not afford to buy shoes.
Have a nice day.

Wow! That's a huge number.... I remember when I was young, mom used to buy shoe size that is larger than my feet so it can be used longer. I guess that is what I am going to do with my children then hand over the smaller one to the younger child. :-)

Excuse me if I can not exactly answer your questions, because I am a man, and are not a fan of clothing.
But grant me this question: do you think of being too fanatical of shoes ?

When I was younger I have to admit I wasn't really into shoes, but now it seems like every month I tend to find a new pair of shoes. Especially now during the winter, so far this winter I have bought 3 different pair of boots, for several occassions (casual, dressy and hangout). My hubby asked me the other night, why I have bought so many boots I just looked at him and smiled and we both laughed.
As of right now I have probably about 20 to 25 pair of shoes that is the most I've had my whole life time.

Me and my daughter also loves shoes. But, we only have a pair per kind - rubber shoes, step-ins, sandals. So, I guess not too many - just five pairs including our work/school shoes :)

You daughter sounds very cute, even asking hr aunty to buy her a pair of shoes. When I was her age, I didn't care what I wore, I was kind of a tomboy back then, I liked wearing shorts, t shirts and simple sandals to go with it. I didn't care what I wore, my parents just bought me anything and I wore them all.
Now though, I'm very picky in what I wear, I'm a bit of a shoe fanatic too! I love my shoes and I love my converse! Some of my friends are shoe fanatics too, each time I go out with them, I see them wearing a new branded pair of shoes. Of course, I don't have money so I'm saving up some cash on Mylot just to maybe buy a nice pair of converse shoes on ebay. I seriously have an obsession with canvas shoes, I'm not into the high heels or the fancy shoes, I just like sneakers.
I'm always on ebay looking at tonnes of pages of shoes, picking the ones I like best and adding them to my watch list. I only have a few pairs, because I don't think I need that much but 18 pairs for a 7 year old is way too much! @tamirs (1807)
