We're not in the 1%, but definitely don't fit in the 99%!
"We're the 99%, and So Are You" goes the droning chant..
We are they who stand and say.. "NO WE'RE NOT!
This is the Facebook page for those of us who refuse to accept the automatic inclusion. No 99%ers you can't force us into your crowd!
We may support SOME or NONE of what you claim to be about, but WE will decide how much. We're not necessarily against you, but we sure aren't standing with you.
Have you been to an Occupy event? Feel free to add your stories and pics! Did you challenge the chants, posters or statements of any Occupiers? How were they accepted? How were you treated.
SEE YOU THERE!!

I don't think I would fit in any type of group. Even I don't have such confidence on myself. May I be the failure to all of you?

Although I understand the frustration of intelligent, hard-working people who get upset when a CEO who drove a company out of business received a 4 million dollar bonus, there are many things about these protests that bother me.
One is, as you say, being lumped in with their definition of 99%. Obviously I am when it comes to statistics, but in Canada, that 99% includes everyone making anything from $0 a year to $170,000 a year. That is one hell of a difference in salary and lifestyle!
The other is the people holding signs complaining about how they can't afford to live on x number of dollars a year, and I look at that number, and I realize that I support my 3 person family on less than the number the person in whining about! In my opinion, that is not hardship, that is greed. You don't needtwo cars, or even one. Try finding a job close to where you live and walking, biking or taking public transit (it's better for the environment too!) You don't need television, the internet (many local libraries allow you internet access for free up here) or name brand clothes.
People who make enough to live on, but waste it on luxuries, should not be complaining that they aren't being paid enough to live on, in my opinion.

Yeah, I've always wondered that too, since I raised 4 kids on what these single people claim they can't alone.

Sorry you still believe such lies, Polaroidsredwine, but the Occupy movement is about nothing but idiots thinking they are above the law.
When they will attack members of Americans for Prosperity and lock them in a hotel lobby, piss on everyone of the losers.
And piss on the trash that continues to defend the trash!!!

The Occupy protests are more than just the money. It's about how there are no jobs (one job in the US for every four unemployed people, think of that), how healthcare is a complete joke (people who will work through sickness, who haven't been to see a doctor in years because they don't have insurance and can't afford it), and how the government has done so little to rectify these problems. People who have gotten educations, have gotten their high-end degrees, who can't get jobs in their fields and end up working for the rest of their lives paying off student debt.
There are people who are out there protesting who haven't wasted money on luxuries, who would get a closer job if, say, there were jobs in the area or if they could afford rent close to work. There's so many facets to this movement and the reasons for it are far beyond what I've put here.

What a good idea! I'm not part of the 99% either. I don't feel entitled to anything and don't believe in the gov't giving anything to anybody for any reason, that's not how I want my money spent. I have nothing in common with "the 99%". In fact, I have more in common with the 1% than the 99% even though I'll never come close to even 1% of their income level.
I've never been to an Occutard event but I live close to one and they decided to "allow" the city to conduct their annual tree lighting festival, vacating the premises for the day. Wow, what nice people...they actually allow the people to use their own property for a community event. I don't know why mayors don't apply the law to these people. That makes them a 1% all their own--those who are allowed to ignore the laws regarding demonstration permits, health laws and trespassing laws to name just a few.

I'm not a big Facebook user but I "liked" it anyway. I am Gustopher, my dog's name. I'm big on anonymity!

Hell no, I don't belong in the 99 percent. Those people are zombie hordes, lol! I was actually watching a program on Chiller channel and one of the horror writers intimated that these protesters were zombies, lol! I love it!
