only doing well economically and politically. i do admit i am not proud of my country being a poor country and we have lots of corruption in the government. and that it is not too safe sometimes for the tourist. though i am not saying that i hate my country. but i would not say that i can confidently say that i am proud of my country that i can boast of my country to any people in the world. i do love my country and i do have concern for my country. but i am not proud on those things i mentioned. i am not proud of the rising criminal cases and other violence i hear on the news. and of course our country is still left behind economically.

Hey, I'm a fellow Filipino as well. and somehow I feel the same way as you are feeling right now. But still despite of all news of corruption and all that bad stuff up and about the TV, I still love my country. I just love how the people here stand against all odds, like typhoons and calamities but still have the will to smile in front of a camera interview. I think that's really our core nature. To think positive and smile beyond any bad inputs given to us by the world. I am certainly 100% a proud Filipino!

Ilove my country and I proud too, because my country is full of people happy eventhought their life is full of poverty, and shortage in all the aspects of life, there is a lot of violence too,and the economy is not good, but I am proud of how my country still get up everyday trying to find solutionsto their problems.

That sounds like a very objective & well-thought out view. For myself, there are a lot of things I'm not proud of about what our country does, but it doesn't mean I cannot be proud of the individual achievements of either the country or of individual people from the country when they do a good job of representing the country. Yes, we are doing well economically & politically, but when that sort of prosperity is built on the torture & murder of billions of innocent beings every year - that cannot be a good thing!
