Why is this so important?

As a unique person in a way that I am a lesbian, I do believe that having a diploma or finishing your education is so important because at the end of the day this is the only thing that no one can ever take away from you, I admit that before I use to stop schooling at the early age of fourteen it is maybe because of the influence of the people around me, maybe I am envy of the other teen like me that I saw they enjoy their life outside the school. But even I stop for few years, yes, for few years, though the road use to be my classroom, I do learn a lot of things which can never be learned inside the classroom nor the books. After that few years, I joined the program of the government to go for a non-formal school, there we will take an acceleration examination and luckily, I passed that's why I continued to take scholarship examinations and I passed in 3 but I only choose the one near our location. Now I am a year and eight months graduate of computer programming.

Young as you are know both worlds. You know what life is outside the school and this made you take back the road back to school. I admire youngsters like you who are not afraid to admit their faults and do something to make up for their losses. Just keep up the good job and keep on dreaming and working for that dreams to come true.

You made the right decision to continue your education. And yes indeed that no one can take from your diploma or your degree. And I believe that education is start to have a good life. Though there are so many things that we can learn outside the school like from our experience. From failure to success, from sorrow to happiness. All these things can teach us to become a better person. Life is a continues learning, so we must continue educating ourselves not only from school but learn from others and experience. Keep the good job.

Well, that's good! Completing education is a mere fact "our treasure" that no one can take it away. It's good for you that you have been accelerated and you're almost there! Keep it up. In my case, I will also find time since I'm a working mom, I still want to complete my education, I just need three years more, I don't think its too late for me though I'm 28 now, what do you think?

Your question reminded me of my discussion with my nephew years ago. He was pointing out that education was useless since there are graduates who end up jobless. I said that it was not, since education gives him a tool not to be one. I pointed out that there are unemployed out there who have finished their studies because they were not serious in their studies. They did not foresee the benefit of studying seriously and acquire the knowledge and skills they will later on use as edge to get employed. Instead, they go out with their peers often, squander their allowance for vices at an early age, enter into relationships at such early age, skip classes and cheat on their parents' hard earned money. Being unemployed is a result of their carelessness and thoughtlessness so to speak. In the Philippines, it is frustrating that most of the youths today have the same habits. Maybe you were one of the youths I mention. You wanted to explore life beyond school. You are just fortunate that you realize earlier the importance of education before committing other mistakes in life and regret foregoing studies.

Congratulations. Be proud of who you are and your accomplishments. I think you are just not afraid to let the world know who you are and where you have come from, it is good that you are open, so many people will find it hard to express openly who they are.
