Hi. I'm working as an au pair and I have to look after a 4 year old boy. His parents are separated, his dad don't come to visit and his mum works all day long. Fortunately he goes to school now but still has some strops when he cries for no reason, shouts at me even hit me. Sometimes he does nothing I say, cries because he wants no food. Somebody any ideas on how can I help him deal with his feelings?

Hello!4 years old children,in fact what all don't know,I think you need more patience,to make friends with the child. When you become a friend-it might just-children listen to your words. Wish you luck!

How far will you go to help this 4 year old boy? Just be careful. Your intentions maybe good, but it might be interpreted wrongly. I think the child needs more understanding and love. Being so young and has already experienced a breakup of his parents, it can cause a lot of trauma in a child. The child needs professional help actually. Meaning, a child psychologist. So that the parent will understand what kind of pain the child is undergoing and what needs to be done to help him out. I hope you have a lot of patience handling this child. You will need a ton of it.
