How affirmative prayer works.

When most people think of prayer, they think of asking God for something but rather than begging or beseeching God, affirmative prayer means connecting with the spirit of God within and asserting positive beliefs about the desired outcome. Affirmative prayer is the same method of prayer Jesus taught when he said, “So I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours” (Mark 11:24). If, for example, one were to pray traditionally, one might say: “Please God, help me find a job.” By contrast, an affirmative prayer might be:“I am now guided to my right and perfect employment.” Affirmative prayer reflects the certainty that we are each being led to our highest good, despite any temporary appearances. Thoughts transmit magnetic energy and this energy attracts other energy of the same frequency. Whether you are conscious of it or not, your thoughts are transmitting energy that is attracting more of the same. When you remain focused on your intentions, you will draw those things into your life. In other words affirmative prayer sets into motion the forces that enable us to manifest what we pray for. Prayer is ineffective if and when it is accompanied or followed by negative thinking. We have to put power and intensity into our thought, change our thought, and believe in the guidance we are receiving. If we spend energy on negative beliefs and feelings, we will get negative results, even if we and others pray daily for us. For example, if you pray for a job and then complain to others that you have no job or can't find one, you are undermining your prayer. By using affirmative prayer, we can visualize and plan for the future with faith that the power of God is continually blessing our lives with unlimited possibilities. Affirmative prayer leads to an awakening of our spiritual selves. In faith, we pray giving thanks in advance that the Universe is meeting our every need.

Years ago, when 4 wheel-drive tractors were a new idea, I needed a farm Tractor. Money was short, but not far away,at a farm machinery dealer, I saw the tractor I wanted. I traveled that road often in the next 2 years, and each time I passed the lot I said to myself- "That's my Tractor!" I knew from the first, that machine was meant for me, and I was truly thankful. One day I stopped at the machinery dealer for a different reason, and before I left the shop the manager asked me to come into his office. He told me I needed a Tractor, and suggested the one I was already calling mine. "But I don't have the money," I said. "No problem," he replied,"we can make a deal!" And we did! That Tractor proved to be a good investment, and one for which I felt a great gratitude.

You are very right I have noticed this lately. The saying does go God helps those who help themselves. So I dont beg in my prayers anymore I put forth effort to make what im praying for happen and then be thankful to god that I was able to do it. Is good to ask god for help but its good to help yourself and not expect god to do everything.

Hi Gram, Thank you for sharing. When you think about it what kind of God would want us to beg? Of course we must help ourselves and others when we can. Our hands are God's hands. Blessings.

I love your post. This brings me back to the powerful law of the universe- "The law of attraction". Impossible as it may seem, but everything that we think, we bring about. Nice one! This now challenge me to stay affirmative. I attended a seminar about it just this mid-year and recently, i forgot how to make powerful thoughts work. But thank you for this. I can now get back on track. =)

This sounds simple and certianly reasonable, but it can become tricky. For instant if you pray for world peace does that have the effect of encouraging war? After all there can be no peace unless there is first war. This first time I read this my feelings were, but, but, but. If this is true what do you pray for? Finally I stumbled into Most benevolent outcome. By asking for this you overcome the fact that we have such little knowledge of the full picture when we want change. But we still attract the energy which is needed for change. Blessings as always

Hi savypat, Thank you for commenting and I like your idea of most benevolent outcome. There is enough violence in the world that we don't have to worry about encouraging more when we pray for peace, We can envision peace in any situation where there is turmoil. A friend and I have been practicing affirmative prayer with some very good results. While private prayer is good, two or more like minded people each envisioning the outworking of a problem in what I like to think of as, "Divine Order" can work wonders. Such people don't have to be in the same place but should be one in thought at the same time. We are hoping to continue this and look forward to more positive results. Jesus Christ also spoke of where two or three are gathered together . . . Blessings.

We are a great many more than three, this is a fast growing energy all over the world, no matter what the press and organized religion says. Look for energy healing on the Internet that is what lead me into my spiritual path.

This is very good. I am thinking that Jesus has left a gift and we can act in positive ways. We are all capable of this. Here is three, I figure if I keep my prayers going affirmatively and you two do too, somewhere sometime they will cross paths benevolently. May there be peace in the world.

Hi Pose: Thanks for sharing with us this valuable information. I have heard before about the importance of making affirmative prayer but I must admit that I sometimes forget it and I concentrated on the things I need, the things I don't have or my worries and that's the center of attention of my prayers. You have made me remember this and I thank you for that. Tonight I'll remember this and I'll make an affirmative prayer. Thanks again for this message my friend. ALVARO
