My uncle died

Okay, I have to point out the fact that he wasn't my uncle by blood, but instead my dad's little brother's partner. They'd been together since before I was born so I never thought of him as anything except for my uncle. I heard from my sister yesterday that my dad's brother found him in the backyard sitting in a chair and called for him and he didn't answer. He died from a gunshot wound to the chest. They don't know yet if it was self-inflicted or not because they can't find a gun. They did check my Uncle Denny's hands for GSR and also Gary's parent's hands as well (they all lived in the same house). For me, where the dilemma really comes into play is the fact that he was my uncle and I really feel like I should go to his memorial service. However, my husband has a doctor's appointment on Friday and I don't think that they would approve my daughter to miss school for the funeral. Have you ever had a family member die from causes that were not natural? And since Gary was my uncle's partner for over thirty years, how do you feel about domestic partnership and do you think that homosexual marriage should be legalized? Why or why not?

I'm sorry for the loss of your Uncle. I'd be curious how the wound was inflicted as well. That doesn't sound right but I'm sure your family will have the answers soon especially if they do an autopsy as they probably would if they suspect foul play.

this is so sad but there are moments of each of our lives. whatever you say will be less because the pain is immense. I can not take an opinion on whether there should be such marriages or not because everyone decides whom to love and we can not tell your heart what is right and what is not. Yet my condolences. nice day!

I really don't think that we have any control over those people that we love either. I do know that I am hurting over it none the less, but like all of the storms that I've been through in my life, I know that I will get through it.

hi there is still a mystery never solved as to what causef my father's sister to run into a tree just a block from the school she was on her way to teach at. She was an excellent driver and in perfect health. my Aunt Lulu was only 60 and even back then people were living longer. the only thing they could find on the autopsy was a mark on her arm that looked resh like a needle injection. but her blood work was inconclusive, they felt she may ha e been robbed as her purse was empty of anything even IDs except she had one folded in a spot where only she evidently knew of. the conclusion was she may have been robbed and poisoned for some reason and in her dying moments she lost control of her car. the case after all these years is still on the books in her home city. They never found who poisoned her or why,or exactly what the poison was. still a mystery in pittsburgh. Many years ago.

oh that is so sad. yes i think it should be legal, since we are going to love the person we love no matter what anyone says. obviously they were very much in love with each other. could it be a hate crime? i bet thats whats happened.

A hate crime is definitely one thing that has crossed my mind. The other is the fact that he ran his own investment company and I know that there were people that were upset about the fact that he'd lost money in investments over the past few years and that could provide a motive as well.
