It was announced on Tuesday that starting Nov. 30 all texts would be charged 80 cents only... But then, nothing really changed when I texted yesterday, it still cost one eso.. is this exclusive to some networks only or some regions in the country?

I am not aware about this.
But, some network provider are offering good deals like unlimited text for a days.
Like 20 pesos for 250 unlimited texts for a day-which is a good deal already- it's even cheaper than 80 cents per-text.

For business people- they can use the unlimited call too.
Or maybe have their phone subscribe with monthly charges (which I think is better)
Honestly- I am not aware promos given by networks since I am not using my phone too much and not loading too (hehehe)
Which my friends knows much and complains about me... :p

Yeah, the unlimited calls can be a plus but some can be use only for 24 hrs. But the catch here is, you will be given an allotted minutes per call and after it is cut you will dial again and will be given the same minutes and repeat the same process which I guess is time consuming too.

Yeah, your right through their promos they said, they are giving much lower in terms of charges if their subscribers availed of them. I have not tried it though but I think mostly young people like their unlimited texting but those who are in business I doubt it or maybe they used it too. Thanks for your time my friend.

Let's just hope they do but I guess they won't settle for 50cents because their profits will be lessen.TELCO companies says that their subscribers are already enjoying the discounts through their promos.
But as enelym have said she seldom uses the txt so she 's not too concern about the reduction. It will be of great help really to those who uses txt much. Thanks for the time to both of you.

I asked for 75 cents but you wanted it lower. My dad says the same thing, he wants it 50 cents lesser as well.

Ha ha ha, so one must be good in calculation. And since it's only valid for a day I guess some don't like this promos. For me, I think I'll go for the decreased text charge.

Based from the news I have seen yesterday, really there is an 80 cents charged for text messaging instead of 1 peso. I believe the reason why telecommunications network still charge 1 peso is that they didn't imposed what is told by NTC. Meaning, they are being hard. They say it is hard because there are actually many promos. But I hope it will go down to 80 cents. Anyways, they have earned more profits already.

I agree with you cearn. But they should be implementing it already. That's unfair to the people who are already expecting that.
Anyway, i hope they could have changed it to PhP.50 not .80. It could hardly be felt if it's that only. However, that's okay already.
They should start implementing it now.

It's really sad that these telephone companies would not comply with the decision made by NTC.I guess it's common now in our country not to follow the decision approved by their governing bodies,if you know what I mean about GMA issue.
Anyway, NTC said that at present transmission charges used by TELCOS was lessen by 20 cents so they thought it was just fair that these companies shared it to their subscribers. These TELCOS answered that the people are already enjoying the discounts from many promos, in fact if computed so much lower than the 80 cents the NTC want to imposed.
News said NTC and TELCOS would have a talk on this issue and let's just hope they come to a decision in favor of the subscribers. Thanks for you time, cearn25 and SYMPLYD.

I've seen that news and I think it's for all networks. I don't really care on that because I seldom send SMS
But it would be better if they at least charge 75 cents. We won't really feel that 80 cents.

Yes it is enelym, but I guess the problem is, maybe NTC have not talked first or came to an agreement with these TELCO companies about their decision before they brought it out publicly.
We may say that their approved reduction may be little but if imposed and if these TELCO companies complied with it will be an added savings for their subscribers. Thanks for your time my friend.

I think NTC should have talked to these telecom companies first if they are agreeable before they have brought it out in public. Yeah, it would be of great help especially to students, the savings can be use for other purpose.

the reduction in text rates is really good news for us who text a lot. now, the implementation and enforcement of this is a problem since the telecommunication companies can get away with their hidden charges and surcharges. i hope the government authorities monitor and follow up on the consumers' complaints regarding the enforcement of this reduction. otherwise it is just a useless effort to bring down the text rates.

Yes, these TELCO companies make all excuses so as not to follow the NTC's decision. They said, they have been giving discounts already for those subscribers who have availed of their promos. I guess they should look on TELCO's financial records but I doubt it if this could be possible.Let's just hope that this reduction is possible not only in the news.

This has no exemptions to all networks. All must charge at 80 cents only in the whole country. From their news release some of the Telecommunications said, that they will impose such adjustments ordered by the NTC starting Nov. 30.
I agree with you that Many were disgusted about same charge rates of One peso in sending SMS yesterday because nothing had changed in price adjustments
I guess they will implement this in long run because, they must find some alternate solution to recover that remaining 20 cents loss..Telecommunication companies are wise. They will give adjustments but never will let their market sales go down.

Yes, if this is finally implemented there is no network exemption.Sorry I've never heard the news that some TELCO companies will follow the NTC ruling about the adjustments. If it's true, why don't they? Maybe one company is waiting for the other to question it first and have oral arguments about the issue before they comply.
Some telecom companies reasoned out that they have been granting discounts already through their promos, so there is no need for them to give adjustments.Let's just hope this adjustment's materializes.

You may be right my friend but maybe before the NTC released the news, I guess they have already talked to the TELCOS about the discounts. Now these telecommunication companies have answered that they already have been giving discounts to their subscribers through their various promos. Let's just hope they resolve this confusion sooner. Thanks for the lines my friend.
