Granny Palmo takes care of her grand puppies.

Have you seen newly born puppies taken care by their grandma dog?
We are so happy this morning to see that our dog Chloei gave birth to three little cute puppies.It is her first time to give birth and we are so surprised that she don't want to take care and feed her puppies.Maybe Chloei had a hard time giving birth.
While we are thinking of ways on how to feed the puppies,Chloei's mother Palmo came to the rescue.We are so surprised that instead of Chloei taking care of her puppies it turned out that "Granny Palmo" came to take care of them..
We don't know that this can happen to dogs..Dogs are mans best friend and known to be caring of their human best friend.But caring for their grand puppies is a surprise to us.This only means that they also have feelings like humans and thinking like humans in some or many ways..
I put a picture of Granny Palmo with Chloei's puppies.So sad that Mommy Chloei is not there for her babies..

This can happen often when the animals either don't know what to do or the mothering instinct doesn't kick in. Sometimes it will take another pregnancy before they will take care of the litter.
I am glad you had another dog that could take care of the puppies. Is she also nursing them or do you have to feed them.
Sometimes if you take the mother and the puppies and someone puts the mother on her back and holds her there and then places the puppies on the nipples until the get sucking and keep them there until they are done. Sometimes that will trigger the mother's instinct to take care of them.

So I take it that Aspin is a mixed breed or as they say in the states a mutt (all different breeds, but not sure what kind).
I am glad to hear that the Mom fed the puppies. So between the 2 (Mom and Grandma) the puppies should do well.

Hi Marylyn,you know whats really amazing? This morning we saw Granny Palmo growling at Mommy Chloei,then Mommy Chloei went to the puppies and feed them and left after they are done.Maybe Granny got mad Mommy Chloei for not feeding the puppies..
Really surprising..
They are no breed dogs,they are Aspin.. (Asong Pinoy)

wow tamris, i didn't know that dogs to act the same way as we human do. its for the first time i am hearing a dog taking care of his grand children. this might have been a heart taking event.i must say you have a lovely family as your pet.

They have human feelings too and sometimes smarter than us
But I have never seen a doggy like that who cares about their grandkids. Sadly I could not see the picture.
I guess there's some problem now, I've tried putting one too on my discussion but I didn't see any image attached to it.
