I think i will have a long night tonight... My daughter is sick and the temperature is like a roller coaster. It goes up and down. This is my first time, after years, to stay with her while she is sick. I can't sleep knowing she is still not feeling well and i want to check on her from time to time. If i am to have a choice,i don't want her this way,if only i can change the situation and get the fever and cough out of her and pass it on to me.. :-( Have you ever think of that when you little ones are sick?

I remember when our children were little. It really hurt to see them so listless and feverish. I know exactly how you feel. Just keep using the sponge bathing her with cold water wash clothes all over her body, even the bottoms of her feet, palms of her hands, forehead, back of her neck, chest back. Just keep her body areas covered up as soon as you are done with a section. Didn't you have another child that was sick with the same thing a week or more ago? I hated it when one would just get well and the other would get sick and then one by one the parents got ill as well. What was worse is when all of us got sick at the same time. Try and get some rest. If you have some children's tylenol, make sure you give her that too. Hugs

I 'm sorry to hear about your daughter being sick my friend. With the present condition of our weather these days many are getting sick especially children. Yes, I guess almost all parents will do anything and that means everything so that their children who are sicked will recover past from their sickness. We are more concerned if they are little child like yours who had fever and cough. I do hope for her quick recovery.

No problem, I hope too that she gets better soon. We have drizzle the whole day in our place and still on going. It's this kind of weather that people gets sick easily, preventive care is needed so as not to be sick, because it's expensive to be sick.

I guess all mothers do. I can relate with how you feel right now because I had the same dilemma last night. My son was sick the other night with a very high fever. I was about to bring him to the hospital if it didn't subside. I really cried, praying to God, asking Him to let me have it instead. As a mother, I dreaded the idea of my kids being sick.... I guess this would just pass by... with God's help. Its not really easy to be a MOM.

To be honest I can't remember. My eldest is 27 my youngest 6. None of them are sick frequently I am most of the time. My son been sick for some periods. Always before/during holidays. I think it was all the stress from school. From one moment to the other he was starting to vomit, 8 times or more. Really panicing and walking up and down while vomiting (no bucket) so it was agains the walls, books, all over the furniture. After that he went to bed, slept for 3 days (no food no drinks like coma) and after those days he arise a live. I did check him during those days but let him be. Did not feel the need to wake him up or stay next to his bed. It was good the way it was and he wanted his rest. Think he really needed it. My youngest I can't remember she was ever sick. Perhaps 1-2 days but slept the night. Only one morning found her in a bit vomiting on her pillow in her hair. My kids always slept with me till they are 3-4 years old. I think if they were that sick I needed to check out I would let them sleep in my room/bed again.

The one thing children have over us is resilience. They get over things fast compared to adults but I know it hurts to see children sick when they have so much energy and joyful to be around. Let her sleep and she will be better in the morning. As far as fevers go though many people forget the basics, I guess with so much to think about. I hope you keep the liquids going into her by telling her that will make her better cause it is true and a cool wet cloth turned frequently and rinsed will absorb heat and bring down her temp It is basic stuff I guess you do that.

It hurts parents very much when their little ones suffer with fever. . Fever makes even adults very uneasy & uncomfortable so the plight of young kids is well realized. That makes us even more anxious. My daughter used to be quite restless and sobbing because of, God knows what would happen to her, we would never sleep until we relieved her of the agony and restlessness. Take care.

I remember those days when I was a kid during by sick days. My mother used to spent the whole time with me by caring me. She even leaves her sleep for me. Actually she sacrifised whole life for me. Really she turns to a little god to care and love us. I know your great efforts taken to care you child. May god bless you and your child with showers of blessings to remain healthy till the life ends.
