Getting an online job!

December 3, 2011 9:57pm CST
Hi! my friend suggested me to engage on online jobs since I have a lot of vacant time after my work during weekdays. I hesitated at first for it was my first time. But then she suggested me to apply at odesk.com. I searched in the jobs that will fit to my ability and then I got hired. The job was not that difficult but the employer offered me a big compensation. I suspected that this might be just a scam. Would it be possible that there are a lot of scam artists in odesk.com? I am afraid that i might be a victim..

Good Idea to make money is by joining mturk no referral system here, even though payments (0.01 per HIT) may low but its sure and secure.

How does mturk works? Could you teach me how to make money on that site? Rate of payments does not matter to me, so long as I get a constant compensation in every work that I do.

mturk or Amazon Mechanical Truk is an Amazon.com company so trust is in and scam is out. As usual register giving actual details and after the email verification process. Log in and select hits available to you. You will find several jobs listed for example "Copy details from the business card $0.02/hit " that means each time you copy the content of a visiting card you will be paid $0.02. Its simple and hassle free, Here are couple of HITs (Human Intelligent Tasks) available right now. 1 visit a website and find their email address $0.03 2 visit a site like mylot and find unanswered questions $0.50 Couple of things you have to keep in mind each HIT (assignment) has a specified amount of time for the 1st example the time given is 0010mins that means you have to finish the task within 0010mins. Spelling - Most important make sure you do not make any spelling mistakes and grammatical error Only accept a HIT if you are confident you can do it properly. Your records are kept from day one. The more mistakes you make lesser the chances of getting another HIT, usually well paying HIT require an approval rate above 90%. But it depends. Above is some beginners tips I am sure there are lot more experienced people here than me

Hey there! well if you like finding ways to earn money or getting a job online, go for it. Just be aware of things online. And when applying to freelance sites like those, always talk to the employer and ask questions. Also what kind of job is that you are applying? You know also Odesk can detect inappropriate job listing as well. I've applied to some jobs there...3 of them were not decent... one would message me saying oh go to awsurvey site and you can earn money there...the job posting was for data entry.. another did the same thing as well.. i am still trying ways to get a decent job on odesk.. but yeah, read the job posting and the feedbacks from employer.. that's the advice. there's alot of scam artist anywhere even in craigslist.. for odesk, if other members see the job posting you applied for and also applied or if one of them report it to odesk for inappropriate posting after finding out that its not legit.

Thank you for that very good advice. Well my employer gave me the task to promote them on facebook. She said that they were working on the charity program for children education. We had an agreement saying that she will pay me when I already had 1 thousand likes in 1 week. She encourages me consistently to do the job eventhough she did not gave me an upfront payment. She was calm and very professional when we chat at yahoo and promised to gave me a fair compensation. I don't know if I shall believe but somehow, there advocate and program really amazed me and kept me to do my job despite of some suspicion. My friends have different views about this. And I have decided to continue my job until the end of our contract.

Hi Ann.. It is a good idea to make money online.. But don't get into scams. Here are a few things. Don't pay any registration fees etc., any site which asks for fees is scammer, be alert when you're offered huge sums for nothing. Once you find legit sites, ones like this, post as much quality data as you can, don't try spamming etc... Good Luck!

Thank you for the tips and suggestions. But could you refer me to a site where I can have a job and sure is not a spammer? I just want to spend my free time into a productive one.

My friend introduced me to this site because she worked there several times and got payed always. I was wondering if there were any scams on the site, and that the job offered to me was just a scam, so it was good to know that you are willing to try applying to odesk. Kindly inform me if you got hired and the job offered to you. Thank you.

Hi,based on my research,Odesk was not a scam but sometimes it is difficult to be got hired by employers because they require certain requirements.
