Has anyone read Hwang Mi Ri's manhwas?

I really enjoy reading her manhwas for some reason. I usually stick with shounen mangas or any kind of manga with action and fighting in it, but Hwang Mi Ri's manhwas are fun reads. I think that, even though it is considered shoujo and has romance in it, there's always some sort of action or fighting going on in her manhwas. :) Most of her manhwas are pretty hilarious too, not to mention she draws the male characters...erm...very 'nicely'. XD I'm starting to think that mangas with fighting, romance, and comedy are right up my alley although I used to just be interested in action. Romance is interesting, but not when it is the only aspect going on in the story. I know Hwang Mi Ri isn't a very known Korean artist, but I was just wondering if anyone here has heard of her or has read one of her manhwas...? The very first manhwa I've read of her was called 'Cutie Boy'. Titles like that don't usually catch my attention, but I read it anyway out of curiosity and...well, it is now one of my favorite manhwas by her. :) It's not the most unique story in the world, and her stories are a bit repetitive, but I still enjoyed reading it. I've read them all from MangaFox, but unfortunately, the ones that I am currently reading (Saesung Bring It On, She's Scary, Die or Like Me, and so on) are all unfinished projects. I've tried learning some Korean to translate the raw manhwa versions myself, but that didn't work out so well. XD If there were actually official English versions out there, I would definitely buy the ones I'm reading. :)

I have read a few of her manhwas and I do agree that they are pretty hilarious. The art can be a bit rough at times but it's still pretty good. I think the first manhwa by Hwang Mi Ri that I read was "Hot-Blooded Woman". The story started off interesting enough but then it started dragging a bit towards the end. But it was still an entertaining read. I've also read "Legend of Nereid", "The Sexy Simpleton", "Crazy Girl Shin Bia" and some others. My only gripe is that a majority of her female protagonists come off as being really dumb. I don't know if they are supposed to come off as being the naive type but some of the stories really push it. I sometimes want to slap some sense in the girls whenever I read her works.

I thought the same thing about the majority of her female protagonists. I really admire their toughness and all, but many of her female protagonists acted like they were stupid. It could have been that she was attempting to portray naivety, but I agree that sometimes it was a little too much. In a recent manga that I've read by her, "Die or Like Me", the main female character is actually intelligent. XD So I definitely kept reading that one. Alas, it hasn't been updated recently but I'm really interested to know what happens next--they stopped translating it at a major cliffhanger. At times like this, I wish I knew Korean. XD

I also enjoy reading Manhwas!!^_^ I love them! Especially Hwang Mi Ri's works. I'm a huge fan. At first, I thought that the art was crappy (laughs) because I usually read Japanese Mangas, and the art in Mangas usually are really cool. But then, I tried reading Korean Manhwas....and....I got addicted to them. LOL Anyway, if anyone is interested in Korean Manhwas, try reading Hwang Mi Ri's works, they're highly recommended.^_^v

I've read her manhwa. It's interesting. The plot is creative. But, usually I'm tired while read her's. When I read something, I like to imagine the chara's intonation while talk, their emotion, their expressions, and such as. when I read Hwang Mi Ri's, I feel tired, because the chara like to scream a lot. =.='

Hwang Mi Ri! I've started reading manhwas because of her. I started with "He dedicated to roses" then "Idol Shopping". I haven't read "Cutie Boy" though but I have it next in my list. Personally I like her art and her stories are good enough to be placed in drama series. I love the twists in her stories and the romance aspect. So far, my favorite work is "He Dedicated to Roses". I'm still looking forward to some of her projects. I highly recommend "He Dedicated to Roses" and "Idol Shopping" as a Manhwa read since the story is amusing :)

I read into some of the Hwang Mi Ri series but I don't really like the art style. It somehow is too massive for me, especially the hair styles of the characters. Some of the stories are quite nice, but all the works I read into were rather long and not finished when I started reading them, so I mostly forgot about them. The characters also tend to look alike in some stories and it can be pretty confusing. There's also another thing about it: Hwang Mi Ri seems to be not a real person. There's tons and tons of comics published in Korea that are supposed to be made by "Hwang Mi Ri", but it more seems they are made by a huge team of different artists who just spit out Manhwas under that name like 24/7. That's pretty creepy to me and gives it a whole... "new" quality.
