Taking food supplements is very important. We don’t get all the nutrients that our body needs in the food we eat so it’s important to take food supplement. One food supplement that is really good is Agaricus Blazei Murill. This is considered as the god of mushroom. It helps regulates blood pressure and helps reduce blood glucose. Aside from that it can prevent cancer and reverts first stages of cancer. What kind of food supplement are you taking? What is the benefit that you get from it?

I use to take muti-vitamins. I stopped using when I read an article that my specific vitamin supplement is not really helping that much because it only has minute amounts of what I really need. i planned on switching to another brand but I ended up not taking anything all together.

Yes, I do take food supplments, once in a while, not very regularly. I take supplements such as Ensure and Boost. I keep a stock of them at home always. They are very good, very refreshing.

I dun take food supplements at well, not even Vitamins or Iron pills after i gone for blood donation.. haha :D I trust my body to do its own work in keeping me healthy. SO far so good, i've not visited a doctor for almost 7 years and any minor illness such as flu, can easily be cured with my runs and rest.. haha With me in such good condition, i dun see the need to waste money on supplements.. lol

I guess it is essential to take food supplements if the food you are taking lack the necessary things for health. But if the food you have are are balance and well, then food supplement may not be necessary. I do take some food supplements but I have not done it regularly. There are times that I fail to take them since I travel a lot and most of the time, I forgot to bring them. But I try as much to insure that the food I am taking are balanced and well.

I was recently told by my doctor that I was very low in Vitamin D, so I have to take capsuals for that, I am hoping now that summer is here I will get more from the sun and not have to take extra, I don't really like taking these things.

Yes, I do take supplements especially as I get older, because the body cannot process nutrients quite as efficiently as when I was younger. I think it is important to have plenty of vitamin D, especially because I live in northern climate where there isn't much sun in winter. Since there has been more and more publicity in the value of vitamin D, I have taken extra and really notice the difference. I also take supplements of vitamin B and C, but don't need to worry about other minerals like zinc and iron etc, because I get plenty of that from the diet we eat and I am not really lacking in those nutrients. _Derek

yes, I do take a few supplements. But taking too many seems to cancel each other out so I don't go overboard. Where do you get the mushroom supplement? Do you buy the mushrooms? The liquid extract? The powder? I would be interested in getting some.

I eat a well balanced diet and that´s it. I used to take vitamin and mineral suplements until I read a scientific article that those pills did not do any good besides making more money for the industries involved. Our body does not need them if we eat well.

I do take food supplements too, because i know that all of us are not getting enough nutrients from what we are eating. I take 1500 mg of Vitamin C , 1250 mg of calcium and vitamin E. They were prescribed by my gynecologist, when i was operated for my Total Abdominal Hysterectomy, taking out my uterus and ovaries. That way, she said, i get to have those needed vitamins since at the age of 38, i had a forced menopause because of that.

After my major operation, I was advised by my doctor take calcium , vit.b complex and vitamin c. For more than 7 years now, I have observed that my health has improved in terms of disease/illness resistance. I only have common colds which would last for a day or two. Aside from these, I also have a regular vaccine for flu and pneumonia. SO maybe these vaccines boost my immune system as well. Food supplements coupled with healthy lifestyle, can really boost ones health status. In as much as we would like to stay healthy, it is still very important to have healthy practices and eat foods in moderation, regular exercise, etc. Food supplements buffer what we already have and may or may not totally supply to what we really lack but it's a big help to ones health.
