I am a single(never been married)surrogate mother of my two nephews whose biological mother had left two christmases ago while the father who is my brother, an OFW. The oldest will be turning 15 in January 4 and the youngest is turning 13 years old today.
Though I still feel like extending my slumber, yet I have to carry my heavy head to the kitchen so I could prepare a very special breakfast to my pre-teen boy who is very excited of his birthday.Breakfast consist of a special fried rice, sunny-side up eggs, sotanghon noodles and sweet sour fish. He was excited to be in school because he knows in the afternoon, he will have a birhday blow-out with his classmates with a super, super extra large calda pizza after his classes. Seeing his excitement on his special day, also made me feel how it is to be a mother when you sacrifice your caprices over the joy of a love one.

The joy of a mother is in seeing her children elicit a smile on their faces. She doesn't mind if she doesn't have anything to buy for herself, as long as her children can have their needs and some things they may want in life.
To be a mother, is to be selfless. My friend, i admire you for taking care of your brother's children. Keep it up!
So , what happened to the mother who left them?

Hello my friend SIMPLYD, you are right how it is to be a mother. She must always be the first to do things for her children and always be the last to have something for herself, except for some indifferent and selfish mothers who always consider first themselves before their own children, (and they really exist), pity for these children to have mothers like them.
It is really a sacrifice on my part raising pre-teens who arrived in our home heartbroken because of what had happened to their family all because of a mother who left their abode with another man. Processing them to be whole again is such a huge task on my part. Im only grateful God is with me in this endeavor and thankful i have gotten a degree in psychology...if not, I don't think I will be able to survive the complexities of their behavior, especially when the youngest was diagnosed to be a smart, intelligent ADHD when he was 9 years old.

I am at a loss, of how can a mother of small children leave her children just like that. Of course, we really don't know how she finds her life as the wife of her husband. But for sure, she loves them also.
But God is good , because He has given those children a mother although surrogate, has all the qualities of a good mother, and that's you.
