I really don't know why the food industry has a very powerful pull to those who are interested, usually it will force them to leave their current jobs to pursue culinary or pastry arts. Its a wonderful world if your dedicated(because its going to be hard). I noticed the food industry now combines all aspect of some jobs especially teacher,Architects, designers, artist, nutritionist. Accomplished chefs teach aspiring new generation, they would construct architectural design to their food to the point customer will be ashamed to eat the pretty stuff, they would design elaborate pipping of sauce in the plates that it looks almost part of the plate, they create canvass in a clean white dinner plate, lastly they are still concern of the health of the people eating their food so they prepare balance meal with a fine dinning twist to it. Well there is still time =3 you can be if you want....come on dont resist nyeknyeknyek... ahem =)

Cooking can be a hobby ... might be a necessity ... or just a past time for some... But if your serious with cooking usually you will end up craving for more and you want new skills and techniques, knowledge and understanding. When I talk with people who are serious cooks, serious bakers, chefs they would constantly talk about food how to create new innovation with what ingredients that are in season, how to wow people with cost efficient recipes that will ensure delicious results not just an "el chepo" one. Cooking is not really a good time killer, yes it will kill time and boredom, but if your not going to learn few techniques then trying a new out of the comfort zone dish/recipe would surely make your day annoying in some sort if you will end up wasting ingredients and now LOOK AT THE TIME you missed your favorite show! have a great day =)

that is true in the case when you look into the sites promisiing good dishes one can follow them, but not complete details are there and one could mess up the things when you make a bad dish.

hahaha could be ... but there are people that how many times they read a recipe they just-cant-figure -it-out... I don't know if a good thing to pass out your boredom especially for beginners they might get nervous by just preparing the ingredients because they might mess up...

I don't cook as a hobby but I do enjoy cooking in general. I don't do dinner parties or anything like that but I do like good food. I sometimes bake and can understand how that develops into a hobby because it is so precise and can be very artistic.

See hverdra its cooking which makes you happy, you do all you can with your own hands, cook and serve and see the delight you get in your face. Dinner parties are good but you are not satisfied at that stuff they serve you know?

i love to eat that's why its a must for me to cook. but cooking makes me happy. cooking as hobby now is a trend that most of the people wants to be categorized. there are many chef nowadays, they just spent time for it and sometimes made it as their businesses. As for me cooking is a great gift to everyone. Not all people goes to school to learn how to cook, but there are people who had a great time in cooking and cooking is is part of their heart. i love it and i love the people who eat what i cook. I long to travel before during my younger years to learn different types of food to cook. Hope i could finish well my journey..

Oh I love to cook just like you. I love to experiment and try different dishes too. My source of different dishes/cuisine is of course, the internet especially Youtube where i can watch the exact cooking demo of different recipes. I'm happy everytime i cook and i feel great and fulfilled when everyone finished my dish. I think it's the best achievement for the "cook".
