The draw for the third-round of the FA Cup see Man City hosting Man Utd. With the cross-town rivalry and coupled with the 6-1 spanking Man Utd received, this will sure be an interesting match-up. Ferguson will likely to fill his first team to avoid another hammering. Another interesting match up will see Arsenal playing host to Leeds United. I still remember those epic FA Cup replay they had in the 90s. In the other all premier league tie, Blackburn will travel to Newcastle. FA Cup third-round draw: Middlesbrough v Shrewsbury Nottingham Forest v Leicester Manchester City v Manchester United Dagenham & Redbridge/Walsall v Millwall Crawley v Bristol City Doncaster v Notts County Bristol Rovers v Aston Villa Tottenham v Cheltenham Sheffield Wednesday v West Ham MK Dons v QPR Hull v Ipswich Coventry v Southampton Brighton v Wrexham Fulham v Charlton Birmingham v Wolves Norwich v Burnley Arsenal v Leeds Derby v Crystal Palace Fleetwood/Yeovil v Blackpool Swindon v Wigan Barnsley v Swansea Chelmsford/Macclesfield v Bolton Newcastle v Blackburn Everton v Tamworth Sheffield United v Salisbury/Grimsby Liverpool v Southend/Oldham Gillingham v Stoke Chelsea v Portsmouth Watford v Bradford Peterborough v Sunderland West Brom v Cardiff Reading v Stevenage

When I saw the draw I just couldn't not to chuckle. It is really some kind of fate that the 2 Manchester teams should meet each other this early in a random draw of 64 teams. That is also what makes the English FA Cup unique and charismatic. Manchester City is currently 5 points clear in EPL and is in a very good position to win it since they did the last time in 1968. Aren't they also dreaming about winning a Double? Both routes they have to get thru the great Manchester United. Let's see who is really the big brother in Manchester.

Like you have mentioned, such fate they were drawn to face each other so early. This is a potential final match-up. For those who harbour thoughts of winning, they will be glad to see at least one "giant" out of the tournament.

Undoubtedly the tie of the 3rd round is Man Utd vs. Man City. Imagine what Sir Alex would be thinking right now. Knocked out of Carling Cup. Knocked out of Champions League. Trailing Man City by 5 points to Man City, not to mention the 6-1 thrashing at their hands. And who do they face in the FA Cup third round!! Man City!! You must be kidding me. :) Cheers! Ram
