Hello all! I was writing some poetry the other day. I was writing one of my favorite types of poetry. My favorite types of poetry are Haiku, Haibun, Limerick, and rhyming poetry. The main reason why I like these forms of poetry is because it is these forms of poetry that come to me the easiest and most effortlessly. I mean I can sit down and write multiple poems of each of these types of poetry without thinking about it. In fact I have made an interest called poetry corner so that I an other people can put there poetry here on mylot. So what I am asking all of you poets out there is what is your favorite type of poetry that you like to write and why is your favorite type of poetry your favorite. I also like to write short fiction stories as well. I have also made an interest for short fiction as well. My inquiring mind wants to know what is your favorite type of poetry and why.

I used to write a lot of poetry--until I learned that I will seldom, if ever, get paid for it. But, I like rhyming poetry because it is the only thing I understand. Those other forms you mentioned, if they are considered poetry, then I don't understand what poetry is.

I find rhyming poetry my favorite. When I write one, I try my best to rhyme the words and make some wonderful sense out of it. Also, I try to write once in a while those that don't rhyme but for me holds meaning. :)
