i have been craving pizza for a couple of weeks now. I really like making my homemade pizza but notice by the time you get all the ingredients it costs around 20.00 to make two. I am wondering if there is really any difference between buying the pizzas now since they are the same price today. I REALLY like Dominoes thin crust with bacon and cheese. Do you make your pizzas or buy them? When I make mine I make two from scratch. When they come out they are about 2 to 3 inches thick cause I put a lot of ingredients.

Unless Dominoes or Pizza hut are running a really good deal or I don't have the time, I always try and make my own pizzas. I do agree though that it can be much more expensive, especially if you don't make them that often (because if you buy a huge tub of pizza sauce for instance, it will expire before you can probably use it all up). However the benefit to making your own is that you have a lot more options for toppings and alternatives (like fat-free / organic / vegan etc). Another benefit to making your own pizza is the fact that it will be hot right out of the oven after you make it, compared to delivery guy or picking it up yourself from the pizza place. So I really think home made can be better, but sometimes you just need that Dominoes/Pizza hut etc taste, which is very hard to mimic with your own ingredients.

Yea if you saw my pizza you would think it might be something else LOL I can't make it to often my husband is a diabetic and would over eat. I actually make mine the size of a large cookie sheet. I make my own dough so I have learned how much it takes to make the dough for one that size.

Have you ever tried using biscuit dough from the refrigerator section in the stores or cresent rolls for a crust. They are delicious. If you just put hamburger, cheese, bacon and sauce on each one it shouldn't be that costly. You could just make individual pizza's. Which are so nice to make. Your pizza's sound delicious.

No I have never eaten at Olive Garden. It sure sounds good. What type of sausage do you use in the loaf? I have an Italian sausage bread recipes at the link I sent you. Also an Italian meat loaf that is wonderful. We will have to give your meat loaf a try. I took my mom's meatloaf recipe and added a box of turkey stuffing to it, plus the egg, and ketchup and hamburger (sometimes I use ground turkey in place of the hamburger. We love it. It really gives the meatloaf a little kick and extra flavor

I don't eat a lot of pizza, but when I do, I usually buy them. As you know I hate to cook, so I always go for something that is already made. If the price is the same and if you make it yourself, there is all the work and clean-up that must be done.

My neighbor brings me food sometimes. She likes to cook and her husband does also and she knows I don't. Her husband bakes some unusual stuff. He also makes his own ice cream which I love.

I confess to liking the fast food pizzas better than the ones I used to make. I compromise now. If I must have pizza, I will buy Red Baron's plain cheese and add the toppings I want to it . It's not Domino's when I finish, but it's good. Lately, though, we're getting pizza at Round Table about twice a month, since we attend most presidential debates with our Tea Party Group. We don't, as you might remember, have a TV. The Round Table gives us a special group deal and a private room with three big screens. It's a nice arrangement and I do get my pizza fix. As to price, making your own is probably just as expensive as buying it out, but you probably get better ingredients at home and you know exactly what's in it. I don't get as fat, either, as I do on the all you can eat salad and pizza bar deal we get. When you are sitting there watching TV, and there's an endless supply of food, it's easy to just keep eating. If I were at home, I'd eat for 20 minutes and then go back to work.

Thats really cool that you get to sit with the tea party at a pizza place. I wish I could find the tea party in my town. I think they are hidden. yea I will probably have to have pizza when I am on the cruise ship. Everything is free so I can eat when and what I want. I never overeat I mostly drink all day and only get hungry at dinner time. happy mylotting!

Oh gosh you brought back some memories for me. I was an eligibility specialist for a pharmacutical company and everytime our department did something well, the company always awarded us with a pizza party. I would have preferred a couple of dollars in my next check myself for all the pizza they supplied us with.

Personally this is becoming the dilema when it comes to Pizza's. I have been known at times to make mine using pieces of bread, and then adding meats and cheeses to them etc and doing it this way, or even from tortillas. But it can be quite expensive sometimes to do things from scratch even though a lot of times you might like the taste better from doing it homemade.

I haven't made homemade pizza in a while but I'll agree that it is kind of costly. I did recently make little pizzas with my grandson. We were going to make the english muffin ones because that is what he wanted for dinner. Well our luck...the store we went to was out of english muffins and we were pressed for time so we decided to use the 5 cheese texas toast instead. OMG...It was amazing! We started cooking the toast and then pulled it out and added the toppings and put it back in the oven just long enough for the cheese to melt. It was very delicious. Not as good as the kind with homemade crust but still good and much cheaper than dominos or and other place.

Pizza - So Rich in Sodium and Cholesterol
I actually do prefer making my own pizza because I am so concerned about how healthy the ingredients in my pizza are. Yes I agree that doing it at home is costly in fact sometimes even much costly than those sold but I still prefer my own homemade pizza because when I eat my own creation I don't have worries about unhealthy additives. Almost all pizzas sold around are so rich in cholesterol and sodium but my own homemade are not and I don't also add processed meat which are so unhealthy. I always make vegetarian pizza and even if meatless they taste really great!

Hi marie: I am not a good cooker and actually even if my mom is an awesome cooker, she doesn't know the art of making pizza so we always buy it. Actually I haven't eaten pizza in a long time, I am more a burguer man So I prefer to go to places like Dominos who have quality pizza at affordable prices. ALVARO

it never cost me $ 20.00 to make pizza. Depend how much the tomatoes, the peppers cost you, and if you pick you cheese on sale, and ground too well shouldn't be too bad. As it is for now even if I want to eat pizza I can't afford either homemade or bought already made, prices of everything for now is too high sadly.
