what is in a cartoon that makes children watch over it again and again?

watching cartoons - Children loved to watch this cartoon over and over again. Hence this cartoon turns really to be a classic one. Thus, it cannot be predict why this type of cartoons can attract more and more viewers.

A pleasant day dear fellow mylotters, I was wondering why kids do really find it interesting to watch a cartoon. Although it was being aired again and again. I mean, it is all the same, what has been aired last week was being replayed this week, hence, the kids just ignoring it. Just like my nephew and niece, no matter how many times they watched it, they still want to view it again and again. Even, their mom is telling them that what they are watching has already been seen last week. And they need to save some usage of electricity. So they better close the TV. But, still, the kids would insist, that cartoon was not yet shown and they want to watch it. Oh my, is cartoon really addicting, what is in a cartoon that makes children watch over it again and again.

lol,i am 18 and i still am very fond of cartoons,like your nephew i too watch cartoons repeatedly but only if the episodes repeated are funny and interesting otherwise i don't watch repeated episodes again and again!!!

hi there kapil11, at least in your case, you can somehow control what to watch and what to not. as you have said, if you find the cartoons repeatedly shown and it is not funny at all, you will not watch it anymore.

My son is thirteen and he watch Disney everyday day and night, and he knows the script of the cartoon and shows because they repeat and repeat the same,lol. I think is because are very funny and keep the attention of the kids with their actions and dialogues.

i think that children likes the colors of the cartoons, colors are very vibrant right? they sure will entice the children who gets attracted to many different colors :D

I would think the same for cartoons as for sitcoms or movies...the kids and adults...we just like what we see! I have watched the I Love Lucy and Andy Griffith show sitcoms over and over and have the box set of the entire seasons and watch them when it isn't on tv. I have seen them so much I can often receit the dialog along with them. Why do I keep watching the same ones over and over? Cause they are good, funny, enjoyable, make me laugh, make me calm, don't have to think about life..just get away from it all with the gang. I have seen several movies many many times...Long Long Trailer my fav..and again, can recite dialog but love watching it as I know I will be entertained, I enjoy the storyline and know that I will be in a better mood afterwards. Kids...I think they just like it and have fun and enjoy it too. They don't realize it makes them feel happy or calm afterwards...but just enjoy it while it is there. They know it is good and that they will enjoy the show..so why not watch it over and over again?

Airasheila, my son seems very interested to watch the same cartoon over and over again as well. I have a few animated cartoon DVDs which he just loved to watch without feeling bored. Although sometimes i do feels bored watching the same cartoon characters with same story going on, but not for my son. He seems interested to watch those cute and funny faces of the cartoons. Indeed, cartoon shows are really very addicting to children and those young at heart like my friend.
