Hi guys! In today's past phasing world, time is really gold .We go and do a lot of activities everyday. But one thing that I want to ask is , is 8o'clock an 8 o'clock fro you? In Filipino culture there is a so called "Filipino time" like fro example the set time that a program should start is 7am and it really starts at 8am. The same as you have a date at 2pm and you come at 3pm.This is a bit disappointing. In the American time 8am is 8am if you come late then you really should be sorry. Although I myself am a late comer when it comes to date but when it comes to appointments with school or work I really come before the set time and if I'm late 5 min, I'd be worried. I think it depends but we should be sensitive too to other's time. So what do you think? And where do you stand? "))

i am always an early bird. i am very punctual in a given time. i always give myself a few minutes so if it is traffic i wont be late. but i also have a trait that once you are too late to meet me... i will be late the next time we meet. well of course i dont do that on people who are important. for example if that person is a boss or a CEO or a employer who wants to hire us. but if this person is a friend, a relative i give them a doze of their own medicine. har har har. so they would know the feeling.

at work we have no right to complain. it is always better that we are on time or earlier if possible. the boss always love to have someone who is never tardy. it is a good example of good working ethics. but to other people if they are late then we dont have to impress them. nest time around they need to wait for me. har har har

Hi! Indeed it is far better to be early than be late.If we are the boss too, we would not want to haev somebody who is always late at work. That would mean ,lack of discipline.

Hi! I too gets a headache whenever I sleep really late . I like coming earlier than the required time so I would have time to fix myself. In my Nursing duty days I really come an hour before our duty to fix all my stuff and be ready for the endorsement which is 30 min before the duty time and that really help me to practice punctuality. :))

Well you can put me on the early comer list. Even before when I was still a student, I am always the early comer. I think I can there are just a couple of times that I was late for a class or perhaps an appointment and those late timed had indeed a valid reason. More so now that I always come early simply because my job entails training. I conduct progrsms where I am the instructor. So often, I usually arrive 30 minutes or 1 hour ahead of the start time to check if everything is in order.

Hi sir!! With the kind of job you have , punctuality is really important and I think in any job we have we always have to practice punctuality. It is respecting out time and other's time as well and it makes us more prepared in all aspects of our being. :))

preferably just on time or a minute early hehehe.. the second thing i hate in this world is to wait so i'd rather be on time or a little bit late. the only time i'm going to be early is when i'm not yet familiar with the routine am goin to take. if am goin to have an interview, of course am gonna be early. but if am just gonna have dinner with friends or a plain night out, i dont bother moving around too fast just to get there on time. cause most probably (which happens most of time) am gonna be waiting for everybody to come.

Hi! I too hate waiting and it really alarms my temper and mood. That is why I don want to do it to others. People today really don't care about the time and the importance of being punctual.

I'm an so not an early bird but the rest of the people here whom I live are and I wish they would be in the same sync as me, but low and behold I normally am an insomniac who can't sleep much of the night so would rather sleep later in the mornings. But that just doesn't work out for me.

Well, i think being an early bird or later comer related to many factors. Of course it is partly related to culture, as you have said, if you are late in America, you should apology, or else you will be viewed impolite. While the same situation in some countries may be viewed very common. I think we should be punctual, especially for meeting or appointments, because if the meeting or appointment have already begin, you can lose something on it, and if you are a very important person, others will have to wait for you, you are extremely impolite to waste all others' time. If you are catching a bus or train or airplane, then being late means you can miss it, therefore, being early is always better than being late.

I live in an environment where the concept of people about times is different to those who live in countries that have been developed. I'm also not too serious with time, but I always try to arrive early, because I was actually afraid I would be late. Most people understand that if they are late, they were embarrassed on others, not because they really appreciate or understand that time is very precious to pass away without any activity.

I always try to reach a few minutes earlier at a function or appointment. It gives a few time to relax and I would be attending the occasion with calm mood. Otherwise I would be in hurry bury mood and would be with uneasiness on the occasion. It wouldn't be good to start a function at sharp time as some unexpected delay may occur by which some persons not available at sharp time.

Hi! True indeed coming before the appointed time gives you more time to prepare and fix yourself not just physically but conditioning yourself too emotionally. :))

I'm not sure if it's a general attitude in some culture, but sometimes Im surprised that some people are so strict when it comes to time or adhering to schedules. Filipino time is unprofessional if you are going to look at it against theirs. Im a habitual late-comer. Everything is slow in here, and you always have reason to be late.

Hi! This is a sad fact but we can change it by starting with ourselves and training and correcting the future generation to be punctual always. I learned punctuality from my dad, he his always early in his appointments. Oh..I am just curious why you can always have a reason to be late in your place?? :))

I really feel the need to get up rather early in the morning and rather get right to bed early in the night. That is just really how my day is quite frankly structured to say the very least. There are just a lot of times where I would just be laying in bed, with a restless sleep, wanting to get on with my day, but I just cannot, so I just remain right there, in bed. I am a very early bird. I think that there are times where when I mention how early I get up, a lot of people stare at me like I have two heads. Time is everything and it is good to really get as much as a jump on things. If you don't, then there is a pretty distinct chance that someone else will in fact get a jump on it. It's all about timing.

Please don't put in a good amount of negativity with regards to Filipino time. I do believe it really wasn't meant to be called as such. Anyway, as for me, I never wanted to be late and I always try as much as possible to be punctual with all my appointments and schedules. But there are certain circumstances wherein it can't be helped to be late. I especially hate it when I have allotted a good amount of time not to be late and still those things that I can't control will eventually conspire to make me late after all! Anyway, I still hold on to what I say that I always try my best not to be late in such cases.

Hi! I also live far from my work and the city but you just have practice more and alarm your clock everyday at the same time so that your body will get use in waking up early. If I have an appointment I wake up or prepare 2 hrs before the time and prepare to travel 1 hr before the time although I can arrive there 3o min or 45 min, I still want to be sure.

I am an early bird when it comes to work and appointments. I am 1 hour early almost every time. but if it's parties and gatherings i don't mind being fashionable late. it's difficult to be the first person at a party because not really alot of people to talk too, and it gets weird for some reason. happy mylotting
