My degree is Bachelor of Arts in International Studies. I am already a third year college student. I am just refuse with my prospectus because there are subjects that are very irrelevant to my course. Like for example, natural sciences 1 & 2, microbiology and etc. I have to take these subjects in order for me to graduate. If only I have the power to remove these from my prospectus, I already did it. I mean, what is the connection of it to my course? Hey students out there! Are we in the same boat?

Hey i'm pursuing BTech in computer science and i too feel like this during first year of my graduation. Physics Chemistry Mechanical subjects, what they have to do with Computer Science, but after first year, all subjects are related to our stream. Can't do much about it, have to pass in all irrelevant subjects to earn a graduate degree.

You are right. We need to follow their sick education system in order for us to graduate. I think we are forced to take it. For the sake of graduating, we get it.

Anilhclites I think that the goal of having the three subjects you mentioned is to exercise your logical thinking and your computation prowess. I am sure that in your field, you'll do a lot of coding that requires the two above. When I was a student, I also had the same concern. The short courses offered by some schools are better because they really focus on the actual things that the student need to learn to perform the job or tasks. The school system needs to be infused with fresh ideas :)

I'm also in the same situation as you. I'm taking up an engineering course but I have subjects such as Filipino, English and Sociology. It's pathetic I tell you.

Some universities offers subjects like that. We have Religious Education subjects since my school is catholic. I don't know what is has to do with our course.
