Why can't they pick 2 off-spinner when they pick 3 right arm fast bowlers?

hi friends. just thinking about if there is a possibility for bhajji to return. i mean ojha and ashwin proved they can be trusted to take wickets in tests and ashwin and jadeja pair is keeping the run rate quiet in the odi's. but why can't they play both ashwin and bhajji? if you ask the question to the selector, they will probably reply "Why 2 off-spinners.pick a leggie or slow left arm for VARIATION" FUNNY. they picked vinay, yadav and aaron for the same team. i wonder where the variations are. must be in their heights or probably their date of birth because i cant see any other variation. the other thing they say is the ego clash that bhajji wont like another offspinner in the squad. if the same clash happened with batsmen and sachin dont want another right hander like sehwag to be in the team,i wonder where india would have been? but seriously why selectors thinks that variations can be brought in the bowling only through the spin department?

Picking two off spinners is not like picking three right arm fast bowlers. Because right arm fast bowlers also come in many varieties. There are the real fast bowlers, then there are the swing bowlers and then there are the bowlers who are there only to take the shine off the ball. Coming to playing two off spinners, Sri Lanka has done it quite often in the past, but that is because they had variety between the two off spinners. More importantly, the pitches were such that they assisted these off spinners from their first ball. Cheers! Ram

I wounder why you are prefering balaji to the team. I think he is not in a good form. For the past ipl as well as in other matches he was not in good form. He was having several oppurnities but he miss those. I think australlian pitch mostly supports fast bowlers. This why India is loade with fast bowlers. India has a good caram ball spinner Ashwin, who is in great form. I think he is much enough for spinning section. If you are not good with him we have part time ballers to do the job.

A fast bowlers takes wicket beating a batsman by his shear pace and movement. Batsman does not get used to pace and swing. more the bowlers more is the energy and fresh are the bowlers. That is not the case with the spin bowling. A spinner claims the wickets by deceiving the batsman through his variation in line, length, spin etc. once a batsman gets used to a spin bowler and understands his variations he becomes relatively less effective. It is therefore considered to be luxury having two same types of slow bowlers in a test match. To elaborate my point our famous trio of spin bowlers Bedi Prasanna and Venkat were almost unplayable for English batsmen initially (1971-72 series) but later on they hammered them to all corners of the ground scoring hundreds of runs (1974 series). About inclusion of Bhajji in the national side, I feel he is completely out of form at the moment and he can not get back into the side unless he improves tremendously.
