What is the best free wardpress theme for suitable to run multi-authar blog?

I want to create a wordpress multi-authar blog in regional language.But I am disappointed to find a great free theme.I hard about thesis theme.But i have not enough money to buy it.can you give me some suggestion for good wordpress theme?

I'm exploring the WordPress theme: Minimatica (http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/minimatica). It has the elements I was looking for. I still have to tweak it. Good thing there's a free version with GPL license.

I can suggest one that I know at least, which is meant for group blogging and I had tried it on my blog for some time; not for group blogging as such but for its simplicity and minimalist appearance. One thing that I'm unsure of is whether authors can make long posts or short up date kind of posting. But you may still try; who knows, this is what you may be looking for! It's WordPress and it's free.
