Hi all. This is first time when I started a discussion and did not get even a single response. Wonder what could be the reason?? May be it was not a interesting post!!! Have this ever happened to you??

i has not happened to me yet. the least responders i got was 2. it was a little disappointing but i moved on and started other discussions that i think can help people express their ideas. it doesn't really matter how many of them, unless if you are aiming to get information from other mylot members. besides, you are paid for the content you have contributed to the site, not because of the number of responders to your discussions. happy mylotting!

One other probable reason is the timing of your post. It could be that the people that were logged were probably not that familiar with the topic and veered away from it. I mean, I don't respond to topics that I'm not knowledgeable in even if the topic is very interesting because I wouldn't know what to say or I have no experience to share about it.

Hi Smita... It has happened to me plenty of times... Don't get discouraged! Here are a few guidelines. Always elaborate a little on whatever topic you choose. Add your personal experience, if any! Love your readers with all sincereity... MyLot is a discussion forum. And there should be enough material to discuss about. Don't post things like 'What is your favorite this-thing?', it repells the honest myLotters like me. I really hate to see the one-liner discussions, which written just to increase the count. Following all these guidelines, yet a few of my discussion posts went undiscussed. But I never got discouraged. If I don't get replies, I keep replying to others... The bottomline is, you have to post quality data as much as you can. And don't try shortcuts here... :-) Good Luck!

Hello Dear Ksmita! I also had similar experience in the past and I too initiated a discussion similar to this some time back! If you check my profile page there you can see I have got about 10 to 15 non responded discussions! There are many reasons I can attribute to this phenomenon of not getting responses for the discussion. In my opinion many members don't want to participate in serious types of discussions. They don't want to participate in the discussions which may require some statistical figures to support their response or which may require t refer some site to answer. These type of members like to participate in light discussions. The discussions which have options which can be answered in Yes or No, which are referred as Poll type discussions, are also avoided by the members as these discussions are likely to be deleted by the admin. The time of the posting also has a major role to play. If you post a discussion when people are busy with the Office work or house hold work, the chances of your discussion going down to bottom of the stack are more ,and by the time people get time to attend the discussion it may not be readily accessible to them. Similarly during week ends people are busy in outing and less people are seen on this site to respond! this is equally applies during the times of any festival or any big event going on in a country! New members who don't know the rules may some times post discussion which are against the rules of the forum. such discussions are not attempted by the senior members as they know the fate of such discussion, which is nothing but a deletion. So, please don't get dejected if you are not getting responses for your discussion, you may not be at fault at all for not getting them! Be active and make good friends on the site and participate regularly on the site, so that people will not forget you! This will help you to fetch good responses from your friends! Yes,one more thing please comment back to your responses, by doing so you not only making money but your discussion will come to the surface and it will get much scope or opportunity to attract more responses! All the best! Thanks for the discussion!

I've got a bunch of old unresolved discussions because no-one responded - don't take it personally! Some discussions are a bit specialised so those on your friends list might not respond because it isn't a subject that interests them. Sometimes they are in a category that doesn't have many members so people don't see them. Sometimes the time of day that you post can have an effect too because if you post when there aren't a lot of people on line your discussion can slip down the lists and be missed. I'm sure most people have at least one discussion with no response! Look on the bright side, at least this one is getting responses.

Ye once , i think the topic or the discussion is not interesting , most of people might find it a bit boring or not interesting at all . So thats mostly why you might get 0 responses to it . Or on some its hard to understand at all , but i think thats not the problem in your case :) Well try harder and make a topic more interesting for all and you will get their attention :P

I think we have that problem at times and you might find someone will respond much later, it deoends who is on line when it is at the top of the list, just keep trying.
