Lately I haven't been that visible here in mylot & i kinda missed you guys. So the latest about me is I am now on a diet of Lean chicken meat and egg whites plus brown rice for carbs right now I am at 189 lbs again and my doctor said that at my young age of 24 yrs/old 5 foot 9 I am on the verge of becoming diabetic if I remained the way that I am right now so he suggested that I get on his diet plan for 2 months plus workout and we'll see what happens so now my staple and best friend is brown rice and broiled or grilled chicken but no worries since it is for my health I'll make sure to complete this.

I think brown rice is more nutritious than white rice. It is more packed with vitamins and minerals. Brown rice is quite expensive than white rice maybe because it is based on its nutritional facts.

flash is right it is packed with more nutrition and is much healthier since it already is complex carbohydrates at the same time from what I have read has high fiber value so your not only eating nutritious good carb rice it is also beneficial for good digestion so buy now... Sounds like a commercial add for brown rice, hmmm....

Brown rice, they say, is nutritious and healthy but not as nice to eat as white rice. I have been longing to taste it but up to now was not able to since every time we go shopping, we have not seen any in stock in the store or supermarket. Hope one day we will be able to buy for experience sake.

Hi there Deodavid,
Well, you don't look overweight in your picture at all. It never hurts to eat healthy though. I gave up junk food for the most part quite a while ago. I can't remember the last time that I had a soda or candy bar. Once in a great while I have one of those mini-chocolates but not even that is often. I eat lots of fruits and veges. The other day, I did have a cheese burger from a fast food place. Haven't had one of those in years. It was delicious but I will say I felt pretty sick afterwards. If you stick to your diet almost all the time then it is ok to have an occasional small little slip up. I haven't had rice in a while either and you just made me hungry for it. Maybe tomorrow, I'll go buy some for lunch.

My parents are farmer and cultivating rice field. They usually plant rice exactly brown rice. When I was kid, I used to consume brown rice. They are so tasteful and I like them so much. Now, I rarely eat it because I have very far from my parents. Moreover, they do not plant the brown rice as much as they did when I was still very young. I did not know if our health could turn bad if we eat a lot of rice. My grand parent and parents are used to eating them and no one of them suffered from diabetic.

I enjoy eating brown rice with broccoli and stir fried vegetables. Oh my gosh, it is so good! This sounds like a really good diet to be on for losing weight. Your Dr. must really care about you to actually discuss nutrition with you, because in my experience most of them don't. And working out is always helpful in weight loss. Good luck with your diet though, and hopefully you will keep diabetes at bay.
