The Facebook Corporation suggest that users remove all of their personal information from the webiste before March 15th, 2012. After that date, all photos, notes, links, and videos will be permanently erased. Mark Zukerberg, the CEO & co-founder of Facebook, announced that facebook will be shut down in March 2012. Managing the site has become oo stressful. "Facebook has gotten out of control,"said Zuckerberg in a press conference outside his Palo Alto office,"and the stress of managing this company has ruined my life. I need to put an end to all the madness." Zuckerberg went on to explain that starting March 15th of next year, users will no longer be able to access their Facebook accounts, that gives users (and facebook addicts) a year to adjust to life without Facebook.Zuckerberg said the decision to shut down facebook was difficult, but he does not think people will be upset. "I personally dont think it's a big deal'" he said "And to be honest, I think its for the better. Without Facebook, people will have to go outside and make real friends. That's always good thing." Some Facebook users were furious upon hearing the shocking news."What I am going to do without Facebook?"said Denise Bradshaw, a highschool student from Indiana,"My life revolves around it. I'm on Facebook atleast 10 hours a day,Now what am I going to d with all that free time?" However, parents across the country have been experiencing a long anticipated sense of relief. "I'm glad glad that Facebook nightmare is over,"said Jon Gutttari, a single parent from Detriot, "Now my teenager's face wont be glued to a computer screen all day. Maybe I can even have a conversation with her," Those in the Financial industry are critixizing Zukerberg for walking away from a multibillion dollar franchise. Facebook is currently ranked as one of the wealthiest business in the world, with economists estamating its value at around 7.9 billion. But Zukerberg remains unruffled by these accusations. He said he will stand by his decision to give Facebook the end. "I dont care about the money,"said Zukerberg. I just want my old lifeback." Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in Febuary 2044, operated and privatly owned by Facebook, Inc, As of July 2011, Facebook has more than 750million active users. The name of the service stems from the colloquial name for the book given to students at the start of the academic year by university administrations in the United States to help students get to know eeach other better. facebook was founded by Mark Zukerberg with his college roommates and fellow computer science students Eduardo Saverin, Dustin Moskovitz and Chris Hughes. This is the news about Zukerberg shutting down Facebook. I cant believe that this is really happening inspite how Facebook being known worldwide. But whether it is true or not I'll be glad if facebook still remains but i would be greatful if it will shut down for some reason... it might be upsetting but remember we already lived without Facebook before so no need to think that your life will never be the same without Facebook.

This is complete rubbish and, in fact, an OLD hoax. The original article was published LAST year. Snopes has the TRUE story: http://www.snopes.com/computer/facebook/closure.asp

Whatever happens in Facebook is welcome, I was never a fan and I don't plan to be in the near future. It is disgusting and annoying to watch naked photos of adults allover the Facebook. It just turned to be the most disgusting open site for everyone from the youngest to the very old ones. Let it shut down and guys will have some time to spend in other important tasks or places.

Very true, atleast they will do something better for the sake of their users and not just only thinking on how to earn $$$ for their own good and take for granted those people who made it possible for thier earnings.

What is the source of this news? I think it's just a funny news and has no reality in it. Nobody would SHUT DOWN such a profitable business. If it is stressful to Zukerberg, he would just sell it to someone else! Please confirm the source of the news and let us know if it's reliable. Anyway, I've never been a fan of FB and I hardly visit my profile LOL

Well, it may be a rumor also. These days news channels have lost credibility and they just broadcast anything under the caption "breaking news"...All news channels can't be trusted. Let's see if it's true.

True! they used it as a tricked to captured peoples attention for them to get a higher rating and that saddens me because the quality of sending news to the people should be trusted and reliable but its now different as they set it as a competition nowadays. *sigh*

Thats what everybody says..its really hard to believe that Zukerberg will walk away from gaining million dollars just because Managing Facebook stresses him out,I mean for me I dont mind having a stressfull job when I know that at the end of the day I'm gonna benefit for it.Got my source from out local TV news here in Phi but the news was confusing because it didnt really confirmed whether it is true or not but majority says it is possible.

This is the first time I've heard about this. If this isn't a hoax, I think a lot of people will really be affected. It's a pity though since it's one way to interact with people around the globe. Aw, and I was already about to create an account. But as Mr. Zukerberg purportedly said, it's time most of us go out and make real friends.

Facebook was one of my means of getting money. It is important for me to communicate and connect to people for my business without this, it would be difficult for me to transact. I will be the saddest person the moment this social network shuts down. By the way, where did you get this news? Can you give us the link so that we can read it by ourselves?

I don't know how much truth is in this, but I think if it closes, it will be for better.... People have put all their personal information and true pictures on facebook, which can be dangerous too.Already we have heard about so many cases. Also people are spending so much time on facebook, may be later they will use this time for something better. I will inquire more about his and if this is true, I will delete my account soon. Thanks for this important information.

It is the first time i read about this news and i think this is a big news for all internet users. But, i still doubt if facebook would be shut down that fast, because there are still many users accessing facebook everyday including me. But if that's true, then there is nothing we can do about that. It's true that every facebook users life will feel different if facebook no longer exist, but there would be another sites like facebook later.

If Facebook is shutdown, surely another one like this will open and the "shock" people felt due to the closure of FB will easily be forgotten :)

Only time will tell, but regardless if it's going to happen or not, life must go on with or without Facebook. Everything will soon come to an end, even human beings...how much more a man-made kind of stuff! :-)

I saw an interview about three days ago with the creator of facebook, and the news you have heard is not true. Some photos of the creator were accidentally posted, but as far as facebook being shut down those are just rumors. Really, if he was tired of facebook and how consuming it was, he would sell the business rather than just shutting it down. The interview indicated that he is very happy with the unexpected success that facebook has created, and also there will be more jobs for more people, because of this success.

Not again! In the past year there has been many Facebook stories saying it was going become a paying site and when you join and it would have monthly fees! Another one was Facebook would be no more at a certain time! Why do people feel for stuff like this? It always turns into being false or a hoax! So many people fall the lies and if never stops! DO NOT BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU READ! i SURE DON'T BELIEVE THIS!

This is actually very interesting and although this information sounds very credible, I highly doubt Facebook will be terminated escpecially without an honest fight. The thing is that many people use it's services to network and market themselves so I'm sure another major corporation will buy the rights to the site and they will reform it in some way. Thing of ho popular the website it and how many media sites employ the sharing services of Facebook, there's still billions of dollars to be made on the production and promotion of that particular network. I would argue that this news would only further interests prospects who have been dreaming to own the network and it's billions of worldwide users.

i think the only time the company will shut down is after the birth of another more competitive, more exciting social networking website, just like the other ones before facebook was created: multiply, friendster, myspace. it could very well exist but the number of people using it will be reduced.
